Not choosing seats ahead of time? |
I just checked the seating chart of available seats for my flight next month, and there aren't any left that are together. I'm traveling with my 4 year old son. They won't separate us, will they? Would the flight attendent ask someone to switch? What would they do? |

The fact that you see seats marked as
"not available" does not necessarily mean
that they are all taken by other passengers.
Not all the seats are made available for
passenger selection ahead of time.
Some of them are held back for priority situations.
One would be a high frequent flyer customer.
Another would be someone with special requirements,
such as a parent traveling with a young child.
Call the airline, or make sure your need is known
when you arrive at the airport.
They will do what they can to avoid separating you. |

?

Yes they would help you two find seats together, same problem happened with us. They would ask someone flying solo to change. |

I travel for business solo a lot, and have been asked to move several times to accommodate a request just like that. I've NEVER seen them not have someone willing to move. |

What Airline are you flying?? The Airline I work for has a section
that they block off in case there are adults traveling with small children. So you might want to call the Airline you are flying on and ask them if there is anything they can do for you. Usually the gate agents try to keep you together....I think most people would trade seats with you so you could be together.
Good luck and enjoy your trip! |

They will not separate you. As soon as you check in, mention it to the agent who checks you in to see if she can help. If not, mention it at the flight deck - ask to pre-board so you can get seats together and the crew can ask someone else to move.
Depending on the flight, they may bump you up to business or first class to ensure you get seats together. They won't keep you apart. Someone will move to help things out. |

i've been on airplanes many times cuz of my dad being in the airforce. they dont seperate you. if they have seats next to eachother they will put you guys together but if they only have single seats they'll put you together. they never had to seperate me and my mom and sis when we were traveling. they souldn't and if you have problems then complain to somebody that works on the airplane and they'll get it all sorted out for you.
:] have fun on your flight. |

I doubt that they will separate you and your son, moreso since he's just 4 years old.
From my experience, even if you have assigned seats already, arrive early during check in and you can still request different seats :) |

flight attendent can request someone to switch but that depend on his will |

Right after they invented the "online seat selection process", they invented this other new thing called a "telephone". Call the airline and tell them you want to sit with your four year old. They will work it out. I (almost) promise. |
|

They WILL make him sit away from you. Unless you pay someone and switch seats with another passenger. |
