flight delays or cancellations, missing your flight, flight overbooked and they give your seat to someone else, someone gets sick in flight and plane has to turn around or be redirected, airline goes on strike, bags get lost. |

1. Missing your connecting flight...
this has to be the biggest ripple effect, transportation as well as hotel reservations. What a nightmare.
2. Losing your luggage if you have a special occasion planned, otherwise anything we have in our checked baggage can always be bought. I think most of us keep our important stuff in our carry-on.
3. Forgetting your passport. |

Well it depends on what airline you will be flying. They can charge for your suitcase. I had the happen to me flying American Airlines! An extra 35$! That was BS! You don't have your proper credentials. It also depends on if you are flying international as well. Customs is a pain now. Don't leave anything liquid on your carry on luggage they will throw it away!
USA Today has an article and this site dailysally.blogspot.com does..should give u a better idea |

the person next to you throwing up on you
a hijack
finding out youre on the wrong flight
the toilet being broken on a long haul flight
being bored
illness
cravings (cigarettes etc)
forgetting sanitary products and not putting them in hand luggage
being told there is no fuel left in mid-flight
having to jump out of the plane in emergencies

watching a rubbish film
pain is a pretty obvious one
having the person next to you stink of urine or something else nasty
forgetting your child in the airport
trying to sleep on a plane of sleeptalkers/walkers
dying for the toilet and theres a massive cue
discovering a dead body in the toilet cubicle
being uncomfortable
lots more, cant name them all. |

I don't know if it actually ruined my trip, but when I was flying to NYC someone behind me kept kicking my seat throughout the flight and I got no sleep and had bad jetlag when I arrived. Ruined is a strong word, but it was highly annoying. |

Except for a landing in the Hudson river, virtually nothing. I'm boarding an airplane to just get from one place to another and don't see that transport facility really as part of my trip, but just a necessary inconvenience I have to take in to get from place A to place B. You start, you fly, you land, and that's it. The less I get molested by flight attendants, the better I feel, except for intercontinental flights, where I apreciate some food and drinks. |

1. Loosing your luggage.
2. Having a flight canceled.
3. Food poisoning from the microwaved in flight meal.
4. Getting caught joining the mile-high club.
5. Having to sit next to someone who is obnoxious, creepy, or really smelly.
6. Getting singled out for a strip search. |
