The best way to be productive is not to be soooo negative. You are not putting your best foot forward by thinking about every possible thing you do or do not like. I have flown many times in my life and the first time I have flown was at the age of 10 years old. I feel the same way I felt back then that I feel now. When on an airplane it just feels like a elevator in the beginning and once they get to their designating flying spot then you don't feel anything more then you feel when you are standing in your room. I find it to be true when people are a little affraid about flying that it is better that they don't sit by the window. If you have a window seat you can always ask the person next to you to switch with you. If that person doesn't want to switch then you can speak to a person that is serving you. Otherwise there is this thing you can pull down over the window so that you cannot look out. In my case I love looking out the window. It amazes me how beautiful the world actually is. I live on the world most of the time and there are many people that have never gotten to see how wonderful the world looks from up above. Looking at how all the farms are sectioned off according to who owns what and watching all the people turn into ants is so exciting. We enjoyed seeing all of the swimming pools because from the air they all are this beautiful blue color and you can see people jumping off of their diving boards. Either way it is a sight to see and worth remembering. If you are concerned about the food then just eat before you go and turn down the food. I always keep the peanuts for someone because they think it is cool getting something from the plane you rode in. Also bring along something exciting to read or watch a airplane movie. Stay relaxed and listen to a Ipod. Relax, enjoy life and have some fun!!! |

Hi, Don't be frightened i have flown alone, i have a little story about when i flew alone when you have been away email me and i will tell it to you. Normally flights now have lot's of different snacks on them ranging from chocolate bars to crisps. Also when you get through passport control you will be able to buy crisps and chocolate. Have a great journey, just try to relax. |

If you don't want to eat on the plane, just have a large meal as close to your boarding time as possible. Most airports have restaurants where you can eat. Another option is taking a appetite suppressant (i'd suggest you talk to your doctor first), or perhaps a pill to make you go to sleep. Not sure how long your flight is, but if it is a long flight, you might want to do the large meal AND take a sleeping pill. Yet another option is going to the stores in the airport and buying snacks that'll hold you over till you get to your destination.
Also, if you are afraid of flying, you might want to consider listening to mellow music during your flight (if you're not sleeping). Also, if you get scared when there's turbulence, look at the other travelers around you. Chances are some of them have flown quite a bit. If they're not scared, chances are everything is ok. In any case, have a great trip! :) |

Bring food with you or either buy it once you past the security checkpoint. They don't allow liquids over 3 oz, but they still allow food. Also bring things to entertain yourself like books, ipod, dvd player. If you are distracted and entertained you're less likely to be anxious. |

What I usually do is pace what I eat from when I wake up to when I begin my trip to the airport. Of course, I will eat breakfast, the most important meal of the day, preferrably, not a heavy one, just enough to get myself through to my usual lunch time. Again, I will eat something light, so I can have room for an early dinner. When dinner rolls around, I will enjoy regular portions of what I normally eat at dinner. Then I'll be off to the airport. To be safe, I will have snacks around, like granola bars, just in case I get hungry in between meals, and/or when I get to the airport, and/or for the plane ride itself. I try not to make any purchases at the airport because it tends to be expensive. Because I need a lot of fluids, I have at least a bottle of water in my checked baggage, if I have one, so I can have something to drink after I get off the plane. Most airports have water fountains for the thirsty. However, if you don't have problems spending money, I say go ahead and eat at the airport. As for the fear of flying, just ask yourself, what's there to be afraid of? I once had to dodge a bouncing tire that came off a tractor/trailer driving to work. Your life is in more danger traveling to the airport. For most people, the most horrific part about flying is sitting in an airplane on the ground for hours waiting to take off. |

Try This! It may sound stupid but it works. You'll be able to use it every time you fly.
Find a tall building or something higher than a single level building and see if you get on the roof. Sit on a folding chair and look out where you can't see other buildings or wires. Look into the sky and imagine you are flying on the plane. Sit there and tell yourself, "Everything is fine". Tell yourself that you are enjoying his trip and smile. Do this for 15 minutes everyday until you fly. Concentrate on how you feel and keep that feeling embedded in our mind. When you are ready to fly and you start to feel nervous, imagine you're back on the roof and you know your going to feel fine and this trip is enjoyable and smile.
Also, now that you put it out there for people to help you with this situation, you have more people focusing on your trip and now you are not traveling alone. We are right next to you and we will keep you safe.
I know this will work and I know you will be fine.
OKAY LET'S ENJOY OUR TRIP!!!
Please let me know how it went.
