Passenger regulations!? |
I am flying away soon so would like to know if anyone can explain me the following. I read that liquids, gels and creams should be put in one transparent plastic bag that does not have to exceed the volume of 1 litre or smth like that to be shown at airport check-point. So my question is whether I could keep those things in my suitcase rather than carrying them in a transparent bag because I won't need them until I get to my destination. Is it obligatory to keep them in a transparent bag? Additional Details Thank you for all your advice. You are doing a great job, just helped me pack correctly. I have another question. What happens to sandwiches and chocolate bars put in a hand luggage. Does it get confiscated or not? |

If they are checked in your luggage you can bring as much as you want. The only reason you need them in a transparent bag is if you WANT to carry them on the plane. |

If these items are packed in your suitcase then you will have no problems at tha airport..I,would not put anything like that in your hand luggage as it will be confiscated when you go through check in.You can buy certain items once through hand luggage control security from duty free shops etc,and also this does not count on your total weight limit..Have a good trip and dont worry about anything as its all for your own safety. |

No, it is only the items that you carry in your hand baggage that has to be treated this way. If you put them on your checked baggage, the plastic bags are not needed.
Incidentally note that the plastic bags quantity is 100ml. and not 1 litre as you refer in your question.
Ah those were the days when we could walk on a plane wih only hand luggage, now I am forced to bring a bag to check in, just in case I make any purchases which are not allowed in hand baggage. Air travel has become quite a tedious experience, now. |

You can taken any amount of liquids, gels etc. in luggage that is checked in as hold luggage. In hand luggage the maximum is 100ml and should be carried in a see through plastic bag. Have a great trip. |

If you don't need the liquids until you get to your destination put them in your hold luggage. They do x-ray hold luggage but can identify anything suspicious so your stuff should be okay. |

It is only stuff that you are carrying on board as hand luggage that has to be in a transparent bag, anything in your suitcase is unaffected. Any liquids that you carry on board must not be over 100ml, and the container it is in must not be over 100ml.

If you want to take liquids, gels, or creams, you cannot take more than 10 bottles through security; each bottle cannot contain more than 100ml of fluid. They must be placed in a clear transparent bag as you walk through security.
If this is unacceptable to you, the liquids must be placed in your hold luggage or purchased after you get through security. |

If you choose to bring those items in your checked luggage they do not have to be packed in a transparent bag and they are not restricted by size. |

You only need to put it in a plastic bag if you are carrying it on. I would still put it in a bag even if it is in your suitcase because it might explode with the pressure.
If you don't need them don't take them on your carry on. It is one less hassle. |

container should not exceed 100ml and must be place in a 1 liter transparent plastic bag. This rule is only applicable in liquids, gel and creams that are placed in their carry-on.
you can put it in your check in luggage and you don't have to put them on a transparent plastic bag. |
