Your travel agent is probably right because Puerto Rico is also a US territory |

I suggest that you get a passport. They are valid for 10 years .You never know when you might want to travel internationallly and having a passport will save the hassle at a later date. |

The answer 'should' be no. But it's the airline that calls the shots here. If they won't let you board without a passport you'd better have one whether the law requires it or not. Why not go ahead and apply for one now? The process isn't that hard (though these days it takes a long time) and it's a very handy thing to have when you need it. You can get the application at the post office or online. |

You should just apply for one now to be safe. They are good for 10 years, so you will have it for future travel if necessary. You never know what can happen while traveling. If you were to miss a flight or a connection and need to be re-routed some where that requires a passport, you'll be prepared. |

Are you really lazy to get one???
What is the big deal not having a passport???
You may need one one day or another. Go to the post-office and apply for one. Never know what future travels will require. |

My husband and I didn't need one for our last cruise, but we got them anyway. The time to receive them has gotten back to somewhat normal. But when the winter/spring travel picks up again..... They're good for 10 years. I would recommend you get them now. If you need to budget, get one and then a month or two later apply for the other. If you get a chance to ferry over to St. John go. Its heaven on earth. Bon Voyage. |

Even if you would, which I don't think you do because it's a connecting flight. If you don't leave the security area you wouldn't really need to show it to anyone as you're booked through.
You can check with immigration and ask those that would really know the rules. |

You might...... I would get one just in case.... It takes 10min and takes less than a month to get one..... |

I don't think you need a passport when flying into an American territory.
That being said, I would take one anyway. The unexpected chance that due to a mechanical problem or weather forces your plane to divert to another airport, which could very well be in a foregin country. |
