Plane Crashing. Please HELP. plz....?

OK so Im terried of planes after what happened (9/11 terriost attack). And Im always scared that there going to crash, either when there in the air near me or if Im riding them ( which is NEVER). But Ive had these 3 dreams were planes have crashed right near me, one of these dreams happened yesterday the othe 2 about 2 weeks ago.

Well Im going to Florida soon, and I have to take a plane to get there. Im just scared there going to crash. Plus these dreams, do they mean anything. Cause dosent everything happen for a reason, and dont dreams mean something. Im just really scared. What should I do?

you dreams are probably due to your anxiety of flying. but don't worry.....the plane is not going to crash because you've had dreams about it happening. you may want to talk to your doctor about your flying anxiety. they can usually recommend something to help you relax a bit.

Well think of it this way, you're more likely to get into a car accident on the way to the airport, than to get into a plane crash. And when planes do crash its either on take off or landing, so to fall from like thousands of feet in the air is REALLY unlikely. so chill, it'll be fine.

You are just dreaming about plane crashes because you are afraid of flying. I am afraid of it too, terrified, but I will not let that fear control my life.

Put your faith in God, all things are done according to His will...

God bless!

First, you need to take a deep breath and relax.

Air travel is much safer now than ever before albeit the security personnel/gates are there to provide a level of screening better than before.

If air travel is not your cup of tea, there is always going on a road trip. It takes longer, but if your planning on traveling with Family, you'll really get to spend alot of quality time with them (ever see RV or Are We There Yet).

Relax and enjoy your trip!

I suggest you (1) go to Florida on a bus or a train or (2) cancel your trip altogether.

If you do work yourself into a panic at the airport and start having a panic attack BEFORE you get on the plane - you will not be allowed to get on the plane.

If you have a panic attack while in the plane BUT BEFORE the plane departs, you will be taken off the plane.

If you have a panic attack while the plane is in the air, you WILL be placed in plastic restraints, given a hypodermic injection of sedative, and be taken off the plane at the first stop and WILL be taken to a hospital for mandatory psychiatric evaluation.

All of these actions by the airlines are mandated by law and are done for the safety of yourself and other passengers.

If you are tempted to take Prozac or Xanax to get over this, it will not work. Your best bet is to either go to Florida on the bus or train or just decide this is too stressful for your own health and stay home.

I have had plane crash dreams MANY times, and I have not ever been in a plane crash, and I fly all the time! But that is not really important. What is important is the fact that dreams do NOT mean anything, aside of the fact that they indicate you are thinking about this too much. Listen, if you are going to plan your entire life around your dreams, then you are going to have a scary and chaotic life. Don't do that to yourself.

Just relax and be sensible about this. You are in MORE danger statistically being in a car or crossing the street. Have you given up crossing streets or being in cars? Why not? Flying in a plane is NO different. The fear is all in your head. There is danger in everything you do, but you don't want to live your life in fear of everything. So try to just use some common sense and relax. It is ok to be scared, but don't let that ruin your life. Flying to Florida is going to be fun. Concentrate on the good things and keep yourself distracted. If you can't get this out of your head, discuss it with your doctor. Perhaps you need some psychiatric help if this is obsessing you.

Here is an interesting statistic: if terrorists hijacked four planes in the United States every day and we didn't halt flights because of it, your odds of being on a plane that crashed would STILL be less than your chances of getting in a car accident. You could use that statistic to be afraid of getting in a car... or you could use it to help you understand that you are perfectly safe in a plane. The choice is yours. Good luck!

You should be more scared to ride in a car than an airplane, like all the others said. Don't be scared of turbulence in fact, i love turbulence ....

Your chances of being involved in an aircraft accident are about 1 in 11 million. On the other hand, your chances of being killed in an automobile accident are 1 in 5000. Statistically, you are at far greater risk driving to the airport than getting on an airplane. However, the perception is that you have more control over your fate when you are in your car than as a passenger traveling on an airplane. Experience shows otherwise, considering that over 50,000 people are killed on the highways every year. Media coverage would suggest that airline crashes happen every day. Studies have shown one would have to fly once a day every day for over 15,000 years in order to statistically be involved in an aircraft accident"
Flying is very very safe. Don’t worry about terrorists that is the least likely thing to go wrong on a commercial flight in the US these days. Flying in the United States is very safe, there has not been a major airline crash in the US since November of 2001! That is a long time for no major crashes and only on fatality in the last seven years for the Major Airlines in the US.
Even when there is a problem on an airplane, if an engine fails on takeoff or an engine fire etc.. 99% of the time the plane lands safely. Planes these days are amazing piece of technology and the pilots are trained better than ever. If you not afraid to drive in a car you should not be afraid to fly in a plane.
Just sit back relax and try to enjoy the flight. Its one of the safest things you can do much safer than driving a car, walking down the street, or even sleeping in your house. More people have died on North American highways in the year 2006 than the amount of people who have died in powered flight aviation whole 104 year history!
Also the best way to completely get over your fears is go to you local General aviation airport and take flying lessons! Once you fly in a small airplane a few times and learn that airplanes fly and that’s all they do you will be much more confident with flying on commercial planes. You will learn a lot with a few flying lessons. I could even teach you a lot by just showing you my Microsoft Flight Simulator. Flying is a great experience, once you get used to it and learn what makes airplanes fly etc.. your fears go away trust me, I used to be a little bit scared to fly too. Now I LOVE it.
I have had the airplane crashing dreams too, and I have flown alot, you should not let your dreams bother you at all about life atleast dreams like that.

CARLOS O
Which is safer flying or driving?

Fatalities per million trips Odds of being killed on a single trip
Airliner (Part 121) 0.019 --- 52.6 million to 1
Automobile 0.130 --- 7.6 million to 1

You see, you are better of than driving!!!

Forget your dreams, you are just anxious!

Wow I live in Florida and to reassure you let me tell you there has never been a plane crash when heading to Florida these dreams probably mean that you were stunned after 9-11 and I msut say I flew on a plane a couple months after that and i was scared and I ended up being fine. You should come to Florida and have a great vacation you deserve it
