Absolutely no way in the world. What deluded person claimed they should be? I have two dogs and much as I love them, I would never subject other people in an enclosed space to the two of them rolling around doing their usual play-fighting. And speaking of fighting, what if two unfriendly dogs started ripping the s**t out of each other, or tried to kill a cat? Lovely, not - especially on a stressful long-haul flight.

And piles of poo all over the cabin floor, and wee on the seats ... fantastic. I think not, somehow.

Crazy idea and one that does not deserve to be considered, ever, under any circumstances.

I am against it, especially for animals who can bite.

Not only could the airline get sued, but someone could be seriously injured.

A lot of people are allergic to certain animals, so no.

If they allow animals then they should allow smoking too.

i mean i like animals but i dont think they should be able to travel with you. like you said what if someone is allergic to dogs or cats?

as long as the pets arent noisy then its fine- but some people are allergic so it is a bit bad and also i think its quite cruel to the animals because it would be very scary for them and they woulf probs go mental and piss everyone off anyway :/

Hey i agree with you not that i don't like pets its just that it might bother people on the plane and some people on planes can be very allergy so i wouldn't vote pro for that :)

Unfortunately the allergy factor makes this seem a no-brainer. However, many people are allergic to perfumes/colognes that passengers wear, but they are paying passengers with seats next to you. If the pet has it's own paid seat and is in a travel container; it has a right to stay in its cabin seat. Yet for the safety and comfort of the pet, the cargo space set aside for traveling animals are best for the pet...but the pet doesn't get to decide. Smell. Well you are just as likely to be sitting next to a person who has not bathed for several days who is carrying an open container of limburger cheese. Thus it is a matter of judgment and the options for alternate seating by airline attendants on site.

One flight I was on included a young woman and her cat. Puddy was held by her and didn't even know he was there.

it depends on the pet the journey time
for example a cat on a two hour flight is fine
or a labrador puppy on a ten hour flight could be problematic

Yes, i think its harsh what they do to the pets on planes and i dont think there is any harm being done by allowing them to be with the rest of the passengers unless they were being very wild and obnoxious. Most kids and babies on planes are already being loud enough so it'd make no difference.

No, people are alergic, phobic, and there will always be a person taking in an animal that they cannot control or that is not well trained.

Maybe if there was an airplane that only flew for pple with animals.... but even then what if there is a kitty who is deadly afraid of dogs? NO WAY

NO! Nothing worse than being attacked but someones lap dog!

Besides, if there is an inflight emergency the pets get in the way of the passengers. Sorry, but no one rescues the pets for an emergency.

....hmmm im think they should have designated area on a plane...not in the cargo area cuz animals aren't cargo...and not in the cabin with allthe people....maybe in the back area on certain planes!

No, because if you let one animal, you'd have to let all, and some are really big and others bite. They all go to the bathroom, and passengers have allergies, so it wouldn't be fair to the people. Don't get me wrong, I have two dogs, but when I go somewhere more than a day's drive the don't come.

Or crying babies, or smelly babies? should they not be allowed either...maybe we could just pick who goes in our cabin, that would be so much better right?

I agree with you for the most part. I have a story of one pet I 'smuggled' on board an airplane, though, that 'gives the lie' to what you said. My show Siamese female was pregnant, but she had 'given birth' early to one kitten and rejected it totally. The vet said to 'let it die' but I didn't want to let a possibly expensive and beautiful kitten died, even though we had to move by plane from Seattle to LA three days later. I nestled my baby in a shoe box with a piece of blanket, a pocket watch (heartbeat like) and took her 'bottle' ... a doll bottle full of cat formula. I stashed the box under my seat during take off, but knew that it would need to be fed soon after the plane was in the air. I calmly removed the bottle, signaled for the stewardess and handed her the bottle, asking her to warm it for me. 'Not until I see what you are going to feed' she said. I opened my box ... and she immediately thought of the two Siamese that had been carefully loaded in the 'pet area' of baggage. She warmed my bottle and brought it back to me, but she told another stewardess ... and so it was, that that kitten was seen (in a very orderly and quiet manner) by everyone else on that airplane ... even the captain, the co-pilor, and the navigator took turns coming to see the 'white baby kitten' before we reached LAX. They didn't send my grown cats down the 'luggage chute' either ... I was called to the 'oversized luggage' area, where I opened the cat's carrier, clipped their leashes on, at which point they raised their heads and tails and walked very proudly through the airport like the 'royalty' they were. That tiny kitten turned out to be a gorgeous blue-point and sold for over $1000 ... and so I think that there are 'special exceptions' and that my kitten was an excellent example' of having a pet in the passenger cabin on the plane.

It is only a couple hour ride. Just worry about yourself instead of worrying about other passengers and if they have allergies. Since there isn't much you can do just get yourself some allergy meds (if that's what your problem is) if you are allergic. Maybe said person is someones assistant and is bringing a small dog along because of a job. Plus that animal could be a persons companion a valued possession. You wouldn't want it out of your sight. As for sanitary bathroom do you mean that people are letting their dogs use the airplane bathrooms? I'd like to see that lol a dog or cat using a toilet lol.

a lot of people smell pretty bad too, but we don't throw them in the dark cold and lonely cargo pit.
