About the same as walking.
And is not the change in altitude that would cause any problems. The is increase in physical activity and "standing in line" that would normally cause problems.
Wear very comfortable clothes and shoes. This is a must. Chewing gum will help equilibrate the air pressure in your ears during takeoff and landing. A good book or some music should help keep you relaxed.
The site below (Have Belly, Will Travel) is good for information on specific Airlines: |

I wouldn't risk it, but then I wouldn't even take paracetamol when I was pregnant! |

there is more risk of getting deep vein thrombosis and this is the reason that most airlines wont let u travel in the 3rd trimester which i think u r entering its maybe best if u phone the airline u want to travel with and consult ur doctor or midwife for a check up just to be on the safe side, good luck xx |

First off, check with the airline. The 32 week is the cut off (if twins) 36th week single - so when are you coming back? After you have entered your 28th week (you have) you will, by many airlines, be required to carry a Doctor's letter to state that the pregnancy is normal, without complications and that your Doctor is happy for you to fly, that you are in good health and a note of the expected birth date (sometimes called a "Fit to Fly" letter) |

At 29 weeks you should be fine to fly. The only reason they don't want you to fly is when it's towards the end of the pregnancy and that's only because you'll cause an emergency landing if you go into labour.

Airlines usually don't let you travel after the 34th week, so you are safe. |

I worked for an airline and we were advised to ask how far along she was, its always a good idea to carry the note from your OB just incase, especially if you look like you are about to bust. The only time a note from a doctor for "Fit to Fly" was required was if she was in the 36th week or beyond. 30 days before your due date, airlines can prohibit you from flying. As stated, that is incase you do go into labor. Emergency landings happnen for many medical reasons, but should they not be able to reach an airport in time, there could be many complications arise, hense the reason why they restrict flying for the last month. I flew at my 27th week and was fine. Its VERY VERY uncomfortable though and if you dont have to, I suggest waiting until after the baby comes. You'll have to get up several times to pee, you're cramped and your back and legs are aching, and your legs, knees and ankles swell BAD. If you do fly, have your OB be aware and ask them to provide you with a list of OB's in the area where you will be traveling or contact your Insurance for a list of approved OB's. Know where the closest ER is just in case and should it make you feel better, schedule a check up when you arrive just to ensure everything is alright. I regret taking that trip...I was miserable the entire 10 hr flight, but I had made these plans about the time I found out I was pregnant, and you know how air fare is....non-refundable. My daughter is 2 months old now and we are flying back out to Las Vegas next month, and Im more nervous about her flying than I was when I was pregnant. |

Most airlines require a note from your doctor. With present security precautions you must consider long waits and standing. |
