RyanAir Question?

More of a rant than a question - but I as just about to book flights with them, total of £590. They then charge £24 per baggage into the hold, per person - and then £8 per person to check in at the airport.

They advise on line booking in, but you can't do this if you have a bag to check in or a buggy - so because I have to check in at the airport, I'm being charged for it!!! So £590 has now been bumped up by nearly £100!

Are there any other low-cost airlines who don't charge these ridiculous add-ons?

I read a recent Sunday paper survey. Ryanair v British Airways to Venice (I think) from a London airport.
Roughly same time and date. 1 person with baggage.

Result BA was cheaper by about £30.

Have stopped using Ryanair.

Hi, you know what, most low cost Airlines have added this trick to make sure they can give a lower initial price.
I have flown with Ryanair a few times but checked in online and didn't take hold baggage, so it was pretty cheap.

I flew with easyjet this year with a buggy and a baby - there was no online chekin available as per Ryanair but the hold baggage was only £5 per bag per flight.

we also got priority boarding because we had a baby.

Try www.skyscanner.net it will give you all the other alternatives.

If you tell me where you are traveling and from which Airport(s) then I might be able to be a little more help.

Try GermanWings. They service most of Europe, and are great to fly!

Ryanair always do this! i really hate them! my bf was in the que waiting to check in one time and because they took so long and he didnt get to the counter until the check in time had finished (all their fault, he was there on time) they delayed him to the next flight and charged him 75euros for this!

ryanair is the only one to do this, what annoys me is if someone twice your weight is sitting next to you yet you get charged extra baggage if yours weighs too much :@

Flybe are pretty good - they charge for luggage but not as much as Ryanair.

I heard a lot of complaints about this airline lately .. which is why we have changed to Flybe to Dublin.

Have a nice time wherever you are going.

Ryanair are renowned for all these add-ons.... I bet you have to pay for in flight food and drinks too...

I flew to Dublin once and it was like a rugby scrum to get a seat-never again.

I'm afraid most of the low cost airlines charge all those add ons. It's how they make their money.

When I used them once on the internet I found that they had given me 7 bags not 1. When I saw it was so much I checked back to see what had happened. You have to check through everything again when you go back to have a look. If you can get everything into a bag to carry on with you you can check in on line now. The bag is quite big to carry on if you follow the dimensions with a measuring tape. I am positive 24 stirling is way too much for even them to charge. There is a number you can ring them up on somewhere. I did once when I put the name on the card in wrong and I talked to a real person who changed it for me but that was at least 2 years ago now. When we get prices so cheap this is what we get. Someone once complained to me that Ryanair was so mean they didn't give you food. I said if you wanted food you could pay much more on another airline!! I prefer cheap travel without the glossies.

RyanAir does it because their prices are soo low.... other airlines have the fees added into the ticket....
