There were two. One - a series of turbulences on my flight from Orlando to Washington, and the other, when the engines in my plane from Belgrade to Warsaw did not wish to ignite, and we had to disembark and wait for another plane.

There wasn't any problem with the plane, but the passenger next to me started going into a seizure. This occurred right as we were taking off. He started leaning on my (I thought he was asleep) so I nudged him a bit, and he went over into the aisle. The flight attendant came over and tried to wake him up. He finally regained his consciousness. I ended up having to hold the oxygen tank for him while the plane burned fuel to make an emergency landing. This was on United from Chicago to Philly.

Toilet overflowed on a United Airlines plane and there was raw sewage spilling out. (I've seen other similar disgusting things on other United Airlines flights).

I remembered in 2003 I was traveling on US Airways from NY- Washington DC, and in approaching the plane actually got out of control because of the wind. I plane went left, right, up and down, people started to throw up. The plane was landing and about to touch the runway, the pilot had to lift the plane off again because the wind was getting crazy.

I was on a flight from New Orleans to Dallas. The plane (AA 727) was taking off and had reached full speed on the runway. At the moment when everyone expected to feel the plane lift off, the pilot slammed on the brakes and went to full reverse thrust, throwing everyone forward. Very unexpected to say the least. It turns out a switch was not set right, he got a warning light, and aborted the take off. He reset the switch and we taxied around and gave it another shot. I'm glad to say that's the worse thing that ever happened to me on a plane.

I am always afraid when I fly and listen to every sound. When something doesn't seem right I look at the stewardess faces to see if they look concerned. To tell the truth I wish I had never read about all these scary experiences. Yikes!!!
I know I"ll remember all of them the next time I have to fly.

I've had two slightly dodgy experiences on a plane. The first one didn't really freak me out that much - but my mother was terrified. We'd been waiting three hours on the plane to take off because of a thunderstorm. Finally, we took off, and as we were taking off, the lightning started again and was bouncing off the wings! It was the middle of the night, so it did actually look pretty spectacular.

The second one did freak me out big time. We were about to land - entered the descent, ears popping like mad, and were about to go through the clouds. When we did, there was another plane trying to land the same time as us! We shot up (ears playing havoc by this point) and had to cruise for another half hour around Washington. I was horrified that this was allowed to happen!

When on my flight from Tampa to JFK, everything was going well until the pilot announced that we were about 50 feet away from an other plane going to Laguardia. We had to go out of our way which really screwed things up cause there were other planes all around us. That same flight we dropped about 100 feet in the air due to Turbulance

The flight had to return back with an engine problem after 15 mins in to the air. It was a bit scary when the pilot announced there is some smoke in the cockpit.

Flew from Manchester to Dom Republic, Flight took over 10hrs because of head winds. As we came in to land the plane was just about to touch down when it speeded up and took off again. Scared YES but even more scared when the pilot explained he had spotted an aircraft coming in to land in the opposite direction and didn't want to risk it. Where the f**k were the people in the tower not to have seen this!!
