Should Overweight People buy Two Plane Tickets.....?

My question is should obese people buy two plane tickets so that they can ride the plane? Is it fair? Gimme Your exact thoughts about the topic and why you feel strongly for or against it. Thanks

When you go to Mcdonalds and get 2 Big Mac's, you pay for both of them, Don't You?

ironchain15
Overweight people should have to pay for two seats. If I have paid for my own seat and the obese person is spilling over into my seat, then they should be paying me for the inconvience of having part of their body in my seat.

yes they should. either that or fly first class where the seats are already larger. why should someone else be cramped sitting next to an obese person.

averagebear
If the person can fit into the seat with the armrest down, then there is no reason for paying for two tickets. If the person cannot fit in and needs two seats, then two seats should be paid for.

Starry Eyes
well i know that i would hate to sit next to a person that is overflowing from the seats. the first class seats are bigger than just the regular ones. i also would hate to have to see a larger person try to pry themselves out when we land *shivers*

Yes............!

Absolutely, and on most airlines they already require this but will refund the second ticket if the flight is not full since there was an extra seat available anyway. They do the same with babies, they can have a seat if one is available but if the flght is full you have to pay or hold them. Tickets are sold by seat. If you require more than one seat to hold your girth, then you should buy more than one and not take half of someone else's and sweat on them the whole flight. I pay for a full seat not half a seat.

Airlines make money by selling seats. If the person is just not able to sit in one seat then it is necessary for them to purchase the seat next to them. Airline seats are narrow and many obese find this to be a problem but unfortantly they the airline can not give away free seats and still profit. I always recommend First Class.

Dang that was mean!! But.....maybe.........

Paolo
It's not fair because when u book a flight u don't book and pay the fares for the seat, u pay them per person. That's discrimination against obese people and it's not fair. It could be a little fair when the plane is full and the company actually loses money because of u but anyway... still against it.
