Should disruptive kids be removed from flights?

I read that a mom and her 4 kids were kicked off a Southwest
flight over the weekend. After flight attendants decided the children were being disruptive on the plane. They were removed for their safety, as well as the other passengars.

Yes, they should. I have been on flights with them before. I have had the back of my chair kicked repeatedly. I have had to deal with a kid jumping in his seat next to me. I have had to deal with a child screaming (in first class). I won't take it. If they don't remove the child, it is very likely that a number of the passengers will restrain it.

Well I'd need more details as to how they were being disruptive.

bobthebizguru
yes, there's nothing more annoying than being trapped at 30,000 feet with people that can't control their behavior or that of their children.

I'll have to look up that story as soon as I'm done here, haven't read that one yet. I know about the autistic kid and mother that were kicked off a few weeks or a month ago, but nothing that happened over this weekend. As for the answer to your question, it depends on the situation. If they are being completely out of control and not wearing their seatbelts, yes, they should be removed. I don't know any good parent that would allow their children to run around the car while they were driving, so why should it be different on an airplane? I think kids in general are so poorly behaved these days. If I even thought about doing half the stuff I see kids do today, I would have been in SO much trouble from my mother.

Kids should be educated as we use to be, but how's that possible if even their mothers don't know what's right or wrong.

If she can't control them and their disrupting the other passengers, but what if their in flight...then what....

YES!!!!!!!
OH YES!!!!!!!!
The last flight I was on encountered an electrical storm over
Denver, Co. We were almost forced to make an Emergency
Landing. WE WERE TOLD TO STAY IN OUR SEATS
WITH BELTS ON !!!
The couple next to me had three kids CONSTANTLY MAKING ME GET UP, CONSTANTLY BEING DISRUPTIVE.
The Flight Attendents saw this and moved me to another
seat IMMEDIATELY for my own SAFETY!
This happened on UNITED AIRLINES and I AM VERY GRATEFUL TO THEIR STAFF for how this was handled!!!

depending on the severity, then yes. would you want to sit with screaming kids for hours after you paid a large amount of money for a ticket?

?
yes they should.....along with the parents

The following is from an article I found, if what this passenger said was true....then yes I believe they should have been removed from the plane.
**************************************...

A passenger on the flight with the Slaughter family, he told KIRO, “It was the flight from hell. I never experienced anything like it in all my years of flying.”
The passenger said the children kept moving around when the seatbelt sign was on. He also said the kids were shouting, going up and down the aisle being disruptive.
In a statement to KIRO, an official said “Southwest Airlines is responsible for the safety of all our passengers, even the passengers whose behavior appears to jeopardize that safety.”
The statement goes on to say that Southwest needed to address the situation before it escalated out of control.

I hope they were given parachutes.

I read about that too, and the fuller story is that one of the children is autistic. It sounded to me as if the flight crew was overrreacting and made the child's problem of the moment worse just for their own convenience.

The mother tried to tell what would calm the child but was not allowed to speak. I gather she is considering suing Southwest, and although I don't generally like our tendency to solve problems in the courtroom, she probably has good grounds for suit in this case.

It depends, children tend to be disruptive in their own right... Four children on a plane is a problem waiting to happen. Just too many to control all at once especially given particular age range.

Yes and No... soem ppl dont understand what if the kid was autistic? my brother is autistic though he isn't disruptive other autistics and other children who cant help it ( along wit their parents) dont deserve that!!! I really h8 hwo some ppl dont understand their just kids we were all kids at one point...

Johannah524
Give them a break they r kids

xxpeplyxx
no becuase they are only children i think if it is a short flight then yes the children should be kept under control but on the long flights it is very boring and is understandable why the children become distruptive..

but also if the children are not seated when the seat belt light comes on, or literally running around the plane then yes i can totally agree that they children and thier family should be removed from the flight

nope. if they pay for tickets too then they should be able to ride. if a person has a issue with disruptive children, they should either not fly, or deal with it , or charter there own plane.
