Yes, the food is absolutely appalling, the entertainments awful, and the stewardesses have chips on each shoulder.

No you should not. That's because the chances for a plane crash is much less compared to a car or bike accident.

Airplanes are much much much safer; trust me. Besides it saves you a lot of time and energy if compared to ground and sea travel.

Go for it!

I think you have a chance of approx 1 in 13 million of being involved in an air accident each time you fly. Compare this to a 1 in 200 chance of being killed in a road accident. (In the UK). Statistically speaking you have similar chance of winning the lottery as being involved in an air crash. But I know what I would prefer.... You are also more likely to die of food poisoning on the air plane than you are from the flight itself.

Definitley not. Flying is safer now than it's ever been.

You have no need to fear as flying is the safest form of transport. I once was afraid of flying until I made my initial flight to the USA in 1992. Since then I have flown to USA 7 times and am eagerly waiting to touch the clouds again

Pilots are trained to land a plane in almost any circumstance so it really is very safe to fly on a plane.

I always say though that if god wanted us to fly he would buy the tickets ;-)

No chance there are millions of flights every week and they all take of and land safely besides the planes practically fly themselves now. :)

no. More people die in car crashes than plane crashes

Yes, you should never fly on an aeroplane - you should always SIT IN an aeroplane while IT flies.

(Joking aside - statistics prove air travel is the safest mode of transport.)

Check out the
Aviation Safety Network. I think their site is airlinesafety-net
Check through the info. Clearly some airlines have way more incidents than others. You can make an informed choice who to fly with.

There is no reason to be afraid of flying. I was in the flying job and so I know that operators of aircraft take a lot of care to ensure that the flight is safe. Even more than a driver who starts his car and drive. For an aircraft, there are maintenance checks,, systems checks and equipment checks even before the pilots get to it.

The only fear will be shady operators who place profits over safety, than these will be the ones I avoid. International airlines have reputation to uphold, so they take great pride in their work. Domestic airlines, you have to be selective.

On the whole, I will say, go and fly. No need to be afraid.

no way, is quite safe but you may get cramp in your legs and there's nothing to do except sleep, eat drink or watch a movie.don't get bored and have a good time when you get to your destination. flying is just another way to get to your chosen destination.

FACT-you are more likely to be killed by a wasp sting than flying in a plane.

catherinecatchooky
No. You're more likely to die on the way to the airport than in the air. These days, planes are safer than ever thanks to all the security measures that have been put in place.

I can understand why you are nervous though
