Should the british airways pilots have checked the engine better before take off?

Since it flew all the way from China with no problem, what would that of achieved. But for both engines to suddenly stop, that suggest a computer cliche., or was it pilot error, Did the pilot put in the wrong computer command during decent?
Remember computers don't make mistakes, they only carry out the command that they have be told to do.
But let us await for the investigation report before we make accusations

Perhaps you should wait for the investigation results before assuming that the engine failed because it was not checked.

taxed till i die,
If you consider it had flown from china,Better checks would not have made any difference.

reggie
Well it kinda worked pretty well all the way from Beijing . . .

bronnimoose
'Checked it better'. Erm, yes.
What are you on about?

teddy
They would have taken every precaution before hand, they are professionals, that's what they do. There have been at least 12 incidents so far recorded with the 777, with the electrics, so perhaps that's where the experts will be looking.

gary c
better than what

Ginny Jin
That's the job of a flight engineer not a pilot.

looks like it was computer error so even if it were their job which it's not, (flight engineer) they wouldn't have found anything.

I thought they were only qualified to fly it. I didn't realised they were the engineers too.

Have you ever had a car break down?

They did check them before take off but these things happen. Thankfully the pilots knew what they where doing. I'll fly with them any day.

NIGEL M
Air Travel is still the safest.

Perhaps we should wait for the Investigation before making comments.

It could yet turn out to be contaminated fuel.

yeah

i dont think the pilots check the engines anyway, but the state of the aircraft B.A use i,m not suprised theres accidents

steve c
no, you stupid ar*eho*e, pilots check the outside of the aircraft not the engine, you wouldn,t expect a mechanic to fly the chuffin thing would you
they did brill to do what they did
wait until the enquiry finishes before you start throwing stones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
