He could have easily baught the tickets when they first went on sale. As the flight fills up the airline sell seats for higher prices, this is how he/she is able to sell them at a price that appear to be cheaper than the airline. |

This sounds most dubious to me although it could possibly be just the way your question is worded. If the 'someone' is a person you do not know well or through an advertisement I wouldn't got near it As a gift for a special birthday of my husband my daughter and son-in-law gifted a holiday to us from Scotland to Vegas. It wasn't even First Class or Club Class think it was just called Business Class but the tickets were over £2,000 each and that was with Delta (not an upmarket airline) changing at Atlanta. That should also give you an idea about what's going on. However, if it is someone you know and are sure you can trust it could be possible the tickets were booked early as the prices go up constantly and if this person doesn't have a valid reason for claiming his/her Travel Insurance they may be just hoping to get the money back for the tickets. However, you cannot travel under someone else's name although some airlines will transfer names for an amendment fee. If this person was willing to take you to a BA office to get this done then go for it, otherwise if you are being told the person will transfer the tickets in to your name or anything like that PLEASE avoid it like the plague !!! |

It is most likely a scam.
(1) One cannot transfer one's name in an airline ticket. So if A has a ticket in his name, B cannot fly even if he/she pays the money.
(2) Why would someone offer 8 tickets? If it were like 2 , I would understand that someone maybe won a contest, won those tickets and still wanted to sell those, (even that cannot be done legally). But why 8?
(3) How do you know this 'someone'? If he is soneome who you met on the net, his credibility is minus zero and definitely a scam. If he/she is someone that you know for a long time, then he/she is merely misinformed.
The ONLY possible scenerio that it is not a scam, could be if this person is a consolidator, someone like a travel agent who has purchased space in bulk before and is now selling them. In that case, they are going to have a travel agency office, ad in your local TV and so on and are going to be selling tickets on a regular basis. Even then, they would not offer 8 first class tickets specifically on a one time basis. |

This is definately a scam. For a start British Airways do not fly directly to Las Vegas. So the route would be to Dallas Texas then on to Vegas with American Airlines. I used to work for them so please believe me this is not right. Also once tickets are issued (or booked) you cannot name change on them so it just couldn't happen. Keep your money safe.... DO NOT DO THIS. |

Right, If you take those 'tickets', I will be very mad due to me being a Pilot For BA (British Airways) and I just those people who buy those 'tickets' are stupid because they should just buy them from their Local Tarvel Agent.
Please Don't Buy Those 'Tickets'. |

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Smells like a scam to me, but you never know. If it comes down to it and you decide to go with the offer, check with BA to make sure it is legit before there is any money transfered. You may not get it back. NEVER send funds Western Union, if they ask for it, absolutely ANYONE can pick it up and it cannot be traced back. |
