Southwest gets very high customer satisfaction ratings. They tend to have a real sense of fun on flights. The biggest negative is that they do not assign seats. You get assigned a seating group and just grab what you can when you get on board. Obviously you dont want to be in the last group. The best way to prevent this is to sign in for your flight online at their web page. I believe you can do this 24 hours ahead of time. They have an excellent frequent flyer program. Have a good trip!

I've flown Southwest many times for personal travel and have nothing but good things to say about them. I've never experienced a delay and the service from the crew has always been great.

A pointer - check in online and print your boarding passes the day before your flight. You're practically guaranteed to be in boarding group A that way. I've never gotten a bad seat by doing this.

Southwest is a pretty good airline. The flight attendants are great and they are on time most of the time. The seats are pretty comfortable and they do give you snacks and drinks.

Southwest is good.

I flew them twice. We did not have problems with delays, but they do not assign seats, so you feel like you are in a rush and panic to get in line and get a decent seat, particularly if traveling with a group. If you have small children they do let you board first. They also do not offer much of a food service, but that seems to be the norm with many airlines cutting this out.

Southwest is an excellent airline with a great employee group. Some people mistake a laid-back atmosphere for a poorly run operation.

I wish most airlines were as "poorly run" as Southwest. They have an excellent on-time record, have employees that will go the extra mile because they are happy with their job and an excellent safety record.

You can always count on Southwest to lighten things up a bit too. On a flight, it's not uncomon for the flight crew to joke with the passengers. Last time I was aboard a SW flight, the first officer said over the intercom: "Flight attendants, please check your hair for departure." It made everybody laugh and started the flight off on a positive note.

If you understand the way Southwest operates and plan accordingly, it's actually one of the best airlines to fly on flights 3 hours or less in duration.

Long live Southwest. Good people.

They are ok. There isn't assigned seating so it is a bit of a free for all except for the fact that you are boarded in groups based on when you check in. It's best to arrive early for a flight on Southwest so you can have a better choice of seats.
The flight crew is fun and friendly.
I prefer Jet Blue though.
