I believe they are referred to as Flight Attendants. |

The last time I heard, they are to be referred to as flight attendants. Steward/ess is old. |

They are no longer called stewardesses. It's "flight attendant" now. Unless they give you their names, then you're not expected to call them by name.
However, if you really wanted to, take a quick look at their name badge the next time they pass by you. |

Airlines no longer call title those people with that name. The airlines decided that calling them "Airline waitress" was too sexist. They are now referred to as Airline attendants. They also changed the title because men started to work as airline attendants.
Hope this helps! |

Correct appellation for either gender is "Crewperson". More respectful (and accurate) than "Cabin Attendant". Any airline employee will tell you that the service side is secondary. Their main purpose (and training) is in providing safety to passengers. |

Flight Attendant - Steward/esses is not acceptable anymore |

Flight attendant is the correct name, before it was mostly a women's job, but now it's not.
But many also call them crew members, or flight crew. |

Cabin crew, Stewards, Air hosts/hostesses, or Stewardesses are all acceptable terms. |

The proper industry name is 'Flight Attendant'. This is not a gender specific term and can refer to a man and/or a woman.
Over the course of aviation history this position was usually referred to as a Stewardess - (a steward, of the female persuasion, in the air). The position was primary held by women so you wouldn't hear the term Steward or Waiter. Now it is generic. |
