Statistically, what are your chances of being in a plane crash?
The odds of being in a plane crash are pretty slim. According to PlaneCrashInfo.com, your odds of being killed on a single airline flight are somewhere between 1 in 10.46 million and 1 in 723,819.
According to the Federal Aviation Administraion, the national rate of plane accidents was 0.32 in November, 2004. To the best of my knowledge this figure includes accidents on the ground while taxing.
Long story short, your odds of being in a plane crash are very, very slim. Still, if you want to lower the odds even more, don't fly.

That depends what you mean by a crash. Occasionally a plane crashes into a mountain with spectacular results, but more minor accidents like missing the runway or landing in the sea are all counted as crashes.
More people die in airport departure lounges than in aeroplanes. Counting all crashes, the survival rate is about 70%.

You have more chance of being in a car crash and winning the lottery than being in a plane crash.

200000 - 1 to be involved in aircraft 'incident', not quite sure what the statistics are for being in a fatal crash.

It's negligible in comparison to road accidents. So, there is nothing to be afraid of.
