1. I was returning home from Bali, using a now defunct airline called Airwagon (now it has been back - purchased, operating under Indonesia AirAsia). Everything went smooth at first, from check in to boarding... until we rolled for take off. We were accelerating down the runway and I have felt that the nose gear has been pulled up a bit until it touched down again! We were stalling, the aircraft failed to take off! This happened when I was a kid back to 1999. I've always loved to fly, so that accident didn't make me scare whatsoever - in fact I thought that it was a fun ride. But as I looked around, I could see the faces from other passengers in massive panic! I even still remembered there was this guy who just hold on to the seat in front of him and he didn't blink for once! I could've been died seriously if our plane went out from the runway, which is the ocean! We ended up taxiing again, my mom was so damn frighten! The aircraft eventually stopped, then half of the passengers were wanting to get off the plane ASAP, my mom was one of them. but the FA told us to stay on the plane! After some arguments, we were back to the gate and some of us got off while some of us decided to wait on the aircraft and go back to Jakarta (our destination) with the same damn flight! I remembered we waited on the waiting room for about 30 minutes without clear notification what will they do to take us to our destination. Then, I saw the rest of the passengers who decided to stay onboard deplaned and waited on the waiting room with us. The flight was officially delayed for 1-2 hours. Then, the ones who did not want to get on that flight gathered together to prepare our attack to the Airwagon office at Denpasar Airport. We were like a mob! I wondered what were the crew at that Airwagon office thinking while we were approaching them like we were ready to kill them. Shouting, fighting could be seen between the passengers and the staff there as we demanded for responsibilties from them. Being a little child, I thought it'd be so damn fun to join the club. So I did. I entered the office, throwing the paper on the ground and mocked the staff and the airline there! I still remembered how fun that was - as I had no fear at all. Then, they told us to get us on some MOTEL for the night, before they fly us back home. Whoa, the situation just got even hotter! Finally, they got us a nice 4/5 stars hotel at Nusa Dua region (I think it was Putri Bali - check it yourself!) and we got another night at Bali - a free extention. Then, the next morning we flew back to Jakarta with Airwagon with no probs. And I met some interesting, friendly people there too! Even one passenger gave my baby sister her favorite milk! as hers has finished!
2. My worst flying experience was with Japan Airlines back at 2003. I know how great JAL is now, but back then, some flights can be considered as nightmares! It was a midnight flight from Jakarta to Osaka (which has been discontinued, sadly). It was around 3am that I needed to go to the toilet. I was very sleepy and drowsy at that time! there was this male FA who was extremely rude to me and my bro! I like to walk around the aircraft, and when passengers meet FAs, they should be greeted warmly and have some nice talk, but this is not the way this freak male FA applied. I needed to walk across the galley, as one of the toilet was occupied. He was there all by himself preparing for meal service I believe. He suddenly just pulled my shirt off from behind! Hey, I was just a kid who needed to do some business! It was a very, very shocking moment. I cried - I was like traumatized by his action! I coudn't believe it, it was just like having nightmare! I yelled at him "i just needed to go to the toilet, asshole!" uhh yeah i called him an ***! haha.. then I headed back to my seat and I told my mom. Then, some stewardess came to apologize. Guess what? I threw my pillow at her, she fell to the groud, and the passengers were laughing quitely!haha.. I hated that male FA so damn much! I could simply sue him in court for doing such thing to children - me and my bro. He has been pulling us around each time we met him on plane! Then, I think the whole crew came over to me to apologize, even I remembered the business class FA came to me. I simply ignored them,but I expressed my anger and hate to that male FA! He was a total scumbag! The FA offered my toys, in which I took most of toys offered (haha) and asked to be seated on business, and without having replied, I just walked with my head held high to the business class section and enjoyed myself until the flight landed! Damn, I told that male FA that I've toldmy dad and he will make sure that you'll get fired once we arrive at Japan! wohoo.. he deserved that fear! In fact, I didn't. haha. Then when I've embarked from the plane, and while waiting for my fam in front of the toilet, the crew walked by us, smiling, but I put my leg on that male fa, so he almost tripped over and I laughed at him! On my return journey (Tokyo-Jakarta), it was a total diff experience! with PTVs, very attentive and friendly FAs and great service.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't find someone who has NO complaints. Airline travel sucks.

I usually deal with lost luggage and stupid customs security checks that are damn right invasive!

But my favorite story was this lady that sat next to me. Before we took off, I watched her down a bunch of pills and then started ordering vodka from the attendant. She'd chug them strait away. So they cut her off after only 3. So she opened up her duty free and started to chug that. She was absolutely blotto'ed by the time we reached 30,000! I was mad because she was leaning on me and slurring and bugging the attendants. Then she said she felt sick and sure enough projectile puked all over herself, me and 3 rows in front of us. Other people started puking from the smell. I actually crawled over 2 rows of seats to get away from her and stood at the back of the plane for the rest of the flight to get away from her. At landing they let me have the jump seat (totally against policy but I wasn't sitting next to the puker)

They took her off the plane first in a wheelchair...she was snoring. And I watched in amazement as they wheeled her around customs and out the front door with her carry on. No one wanted to deal with her.

Then I started to think about it, and I had noticed she had several wads of money in her purse and carry on....she had managed to get through customs without declaring any of it. Perfect! What a scam!

omg, i really also hate northwest too for their stinkish service for me.

well my story is at the Changi international airport in singapore. my malaysia airline flight was delayed 8 hour; so the staff at the airport said to stay here and wait another 6 hours, so i did. then the flight got canceled and i was so mad because the airport staff and malaysia airline staff said it will not be cancceled but it did unfortunatley. thus they rescheduled another flight for me on singapore airline thenthe stinky staff wouldnt let me on because i didnt have a ticket so i had to get the flight perosn that arranged my new flight but she went home. and i ended up not coming back to the usa for quite a while. thus my luggage got all messed u and it ended up at my original first stop, tokyo japan. so i asked the staff to get my luggage back but they said they couldnt! so i ended up at the terminal sleeping for like 5 hours then i talked to my travel agent half way acrooss the world from me. she said to try to talk to the manager so i did eventually and they booked me on a flight on continental airlines and flew me to tokyo. i did get my luggage after that. and i flew back to my original destination.

(Never go to changi airport, southwest,, northwest, delaying delta, or klm airlines.

Worst airline i've ever flown on: LOT Polish Airlines.
It just stinks. I don't have one horriblyhorrible experience but i have a few pretty bad ones.
1: First, the flight was delayed an hour before they let us on the plane. Then they "forgot" to refill the Oxygen Tank, and we sat on the airplane for "Only fifteen minutes guys." except it was two hours. Then there were two people next to us who got into a huge argument. The lady got mad when the guy in front of her pulled his seat down on her. "You're sitting on me" "But all the seats go back." They went at it for a very long time. Then the people at the emergency exit got totally drunk, and started harrassing a flight attendent to get them more beer. Oh and the other FA was yelling at a women with a painting.
2: A bunch of dudes at the airport stole our DVD player and damaged a handbag.
LOT stinks, they're always late and the service is horrible.
That's why this year i'm flying KLM

Fortunately I haven't had such an experience, the only time I missed my flight (and also the once-a-day connecting flight) I had to spend all day in Houston's Bush, fortunately I didn't get bored discovering the whole Continental terminal which is huge.

Yeah, Northwest is the one to avoid at all costs!

I was flying from Sacramento to Kansas City, MO on NWA (via codeshare with Continental) in December 2005 and was stuck in Minneapolis for 5 hrs. because of maintenance issues, not weather conditions like one might think.

After a 2 hr. wait, we were eventually told to switch planes. On the second plane, it was determined that there was navigational system issues on THAT plane as well, but we had to stay on that plane still.

Ultimately, I had my mobile that let me get on the web since our plane was still parked at the aerobridge; I looked up the NWA Contract of Carriage and found out that with such delays that were under NWA's control (maintenance issues), the passengers were supposed to get Customer Service packets which included a pre-paid phone card good for about 10 mins. use, and also vouchers good for either food in the airport or drinks on the plane. The crew had no clue of what I was talking about until I pointed it out to them by showing it on my mobile. Only then did they have a little conference about it, and they decided "Oh, I think we do have those on here somewhere.." Needless to say, I got many thanks from the passengers when we eventually landed in Kansas City for pointing that out.

US Airways First Class is a joke: You pay First Class fares, and the only extras you get is a pre-flight drink and one more free checked baggage article. No snacks at all, not even peanuts!! And this was in July 2006, not recently..

Worst experience by far was flying out of JFK airport in NYC some time back in 2004. Surly and indifferent staff who could barely speak English, SLOW service... and this isn't some little airport out in the sticks, it's supposed to be a major world airport. Not an experience I want to repeat any time soon.

my worst airport experience was when i was travelling from lagos to san francsico connecting through new york. the terminal was extremly packed it took 4 hours from check in to the arrive at the gate. are flight was later delayed when we were going to new york. then the customs took forever. and because my mom brought 3 luggages just for her self fr clothes it took hours before we could find are terminal and then check in. just when we thought are problems were over they got worse. becasue we were delayed we missed our jetblue flight to san fancsico we had to wait 12 hours in the same spot before we checked in.

well, 3 years ago we went 2 Florida 4 Christmas, and we were late and missed our flight!but our airplane flew to Washington D.C!We were very disappointed when we heard that.also i thought i lost my luggage but then it came around on the belt.i felt like god didn't want anything bad to happen to us :)
