The longest flight delay I had was seven hours.

I noticed the time was past the flight schedule and we should have boarded the plane half an hour earlier. But there was no information until I approached the customer service booth of the airline who informed me that the aircraft was out of order and was still in the hangar for repair.

The irate passengers stormed into the tiny booth and demanded that we would be put on the very next plane to our destination. Salts were rubbed into our injuries when the airline representatives told us that the plane undergoing repairs at the hangar would be the aircraft that would take us to our destination. Whoa! Flying coffin!

Worst, we were given meal coupons worth P60! And imagine that the stuffs in the canteen at the Manila Domestic Airport cost dollars..

Baloney! Poor ratings for Air Philippines.

Last Wednesdays, one airport for 6 hours where they only drink machine was broken and security had a fit if anyone tried to go out past the check point to the cafe.

Then Atlanta for 12 hours where CNN is blasted loud and non stop for 24 hours, I could not sleep but I knew every piece of news for that day.

Oh and I had 2 kids with me =)

July 2005. I was 17 years old, and was flying from Los Angeles to Philadelphia by myself. I was supposed to have an hour and a half stopover in Cincinnati, but weather made it worse. My plane was stuck in Norfolk VA for 8 hours from bad weather. Then it still had to fly to JFK, and then to Cincinnati. I was alone, tired, and scared. We ended up taking off in the early hours of the morning. All Delta Airlines did for us was give us $25 off for our next purchase. I never used it.

This is far, far better than being on a aircraft flying over watter and having a electrical fire in the passenger compartment and being over three hundred miles from the nearest airport where the aircraft can land.I will concede however that neither situation is any fun.

December 27,2005 I was traveling with my two small children from Michigan to Illinois. There was a problem with our plane and we were delayed leaving lansing MI by 2 hours. We arrived in Detroit Just in time to miss our connecting flight to chicago. There were no other flights that evening so I had to take my 3yr old and 6 month old to the motel the airline put us in. We got up the next morning ready to take a 7:35 flight home and that plane was cancelled after being delayed 1 hour. We then waited another 3 hours to leave detroit. Finally go to chicago had a 2 hour lay over and got to my destination with two very tired children at almost 10:00p.m. December 28, 2005

i was stuck in the airport for 2 days then i went on amtrak cause i couldnt take it anymore

I remember being stuck at the airport with my mom, dad, brother, and little sister for 6 hours. We were supposed to leave at 6pm for Florida, but ended up leaving at 12am. Sooo we got there at 3am. It wasn't too bad, there were places to eat, and I had my dvd player with me. I mainly slept though. They gave us free snacks and drinks, thankfully. I believe the delay was because the plane stopped at another airport before coming to ours, it was some stupid mistake.

Snowed in at Denver for 26 hours. So much snow we couldn't go out of the airport. I remember they had the kind of seating with the seperators so it was impossible to lay down. The food places ran out of most everything fresh and hot. Then, when we finally departed it was "iffy" as some airlines were refusing to take off yet so you knew it was dangerous at best. Never so glad to land and end that journey. They were not "friendly skies".
