I generally read on an airplane. I am recommending Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. The sequels are Pretties and Specials. It is about a world where at the age of 16, everyone gets plastic surgery to look pretty. The problem is that it makes your brain change and you stop questioning the government.
Once I crocheted an afghan but with the new regulations, I am not sure they would let me take a crochet hook on an airplane.
No you don't need to take an adult in first class.
If you can take Southwest, that would be best. I like them better than Delta. |

With take-off and landing, 1 hour 20 minutes will be over before you know it so I wouldn't worry too much about occupying yourself. In that time you could probably read the aircraft safety card and say hello to the people sitting next to you.
I might use some of these tips on my 24 hour Lon-Syd flight though ... |

You don't need anyone with you if you fly first class. If you do fly in first, take advantage of the nice snacks and drinks. 80 minutes is nothing. |

I would read. I'm surprised you don't have a cell phone, ipod, or a psp. I see people with those things all the time and it drives me nuts. |

Well by the time they take off, serve refrehments and clear up, half the fly time will be over. Then you can read a mag (most airlines have inflight magazines), do a crossward or simply watch the clouds go by and daydream. |

1 Hour and 20 Minutes? That is nothing,I always fly from Germany to Canada and that is a long flight ( 8 Hours ) so just take a nice Book with you and then sleep.Or maybe have a nice talk with some people in the plane, that is always intresting to learn new people. |

I'm a pilot, so I hopefully can help you out. Grab your favorite magazine and do not open it until you are on the plane. Are you into Sudoku? That eats up a lot of time. On airlines, it depends on where you are going. Also, Southwest does not have first class, Delta does not require you to be 18 or over in first. Hope this helps. Have fun! |

Well read the airline magazine... it will educate you for your future trips... fill up the frequent flier form... it would earn you additional miles if you fill it on board.... |

Hello!
I have flown many times. As for inflight services, on Southwest (all coach) you get free non-alchoholic beverages. On Delta, First Class gets choice from the Snack Basket which has chips, cookies, penuts, and fruit bars as well as beverages. When flying economy, only beverages are free. Most airlines have a magazine you can read, or you can bring your MP3 player (if you have one), or a book. It's only a 1 1/2 hour flight, so it is not that bad.
Hope this helps! Safe flying! |
