Those very-low-cost one way flights; is it actually possible to buy one way ticket and return by other means?

Yes,I've done it often. To see the north coast of Spain I flew Gatwick-Bilbao,and returned Santiago de Compostela-Heathrow. Total cost Â£60 with Iberia. The best was outbound to Jerez,returning from Barcelona(Girona) two weeks later for Â£23 total. Being able to travel around and not have to return to the same airport to fly home makes a lot of sense to me. Obviously,you don't have to use the same airline for the outward and return trips,so for example you can come back to your 'home' airport from a place not served by the outbound airline. Use the maps on the airline websites to find what possibilities there are,and the next day/previous day options on the booking page to find the cheapest way to do it. If nothing suits at the times you want go somewhere else. It's half the fun,seeing just where I can get to cheaply,and actually get back again within dates available to me..It can take a whole evening checking around airlines,but it's fun,and cheaper than an evening in the pub,saving more cash for the trip. Have fun.

You may certainly return on whatever means of travel you can. Drive with a friend, train, bus etc.

Yes it's possible but you may find that the price is a bit higher than the advertised fare. Get online and check them out. You don't have to pay until you've seen the costs so just do some research online.

Not sure , but i know sometimes the two way tickets cost less than the one way tickets!

ive checked dat out when i was going on holiday but when you some up there and back it comes out more expensive because of tax and blah blah so i think its more cheaper to buy return ticket
but you can buy one way ticket there and another back just make sure you buy both of these before you bourd and on your way to your holiday coz its gonna be pretty expensive to buy it when your der.

yea go for it if you found cheap one way there and one way back and book them both!

Yes you can buy just a one-way ticket. But, do look carefully to see there are any flights back at reasonable prices (and times). Lots of airlines charge a cheap outward flight knowing you have to fly back (very expensively) with them.
