Tipping the stewardess/steward on the plane?

I’m planning to fly with a 7month old on a 10h flight and will need various favors from the crew. Should I tip them for the help? How much? Do I tip just one or all that help? When to tip? Is it every time I ask something or the first time or when we land? Is it better to just buy a box of chocolate and give them? When do I do that? Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.
Additional Details
English is only the 4th language I know and it has been a while since the last time I flew and I have forgotten the phrase “flight attendant”. thank you for reminding me James

No, we are not allowed to accept tips. Your thoughtfulness is great and I imagine that the flight attendants will go out of their way to help you.

That's very generous of you! Most people wouldn't think of doing that. Although, I don't think flight attendants are allowed to accept tips. I fly very frequently (90-100 times a year) and have only once seen someoone offer a flight attendant a tip. And she said that she can't accept them per airlne rules.

I don't think that flight attendants expect or accept tips.

I fly a lot and I have never ever seen anyone tip a stewardess or steward. Ever.
If you feel like being nice and generous, you may offer some sweets to them after the flight..
(I don't think terrorist carry little kids on planes...yet... so guessing they wont be afraid to eat the chocolates)

It is not done.

I do not think you need to tip them, attending to you is their job. Now is if you do tip them I would only give them one single tip, at the end of the flight, like the way you would at a restaurant. I wouldn't go out of your way to give a small gift. A small tip at the end of the flight for a "thanks" I think is more than enough.

Flight Attendants don't expect to receive tips, in fact it is discouraged. The nicest thing you can do for them is to show consideration and not demand that they tend to you and your child as if they are your nanny.

Alexander
give them a bag of airline peanuts each... so just ask them for extra bags before the plane lands. trust me, you'll make their day.

James
Here's a tip, top contributor. Call them flight attendants.

LuluBelle
You dont tip them, unless you like the mile high club thing.....
