Tommarow is my first ever flight!?

I always swore I would never fly. My husband is in another state and Im going to see him for the weekend. I am going to be all alone and I am scared. I know its safer than driving but not if theres a crash or hi-jacking. So, do you think the passenger next to me will mind if I cling to them the whole ride?

It depends on the person. But don't worry. wasn't scared of planes until 911 happened. Last year i had to go to Italy. Once you are on the plane it doesn't even feel like you are on a plane. Plus i had an 8 hour flight and then a 12 hour flight and your should only be a quick flight if it is only to another state. I got prescription drugs for anxiety which i took with me but I didn't even end up using them on the plane.

You are going to be just fine. Just remind yourself that people fly all the time, all day, every day, and there's no reason for anything scary to happen. The passenger next to you probably would mind if you cling to them the whole time, just like you would if you were on a bus and a stranger glommed on to you.

What you need to do is realign your mindset. Look at it like an exciting adventure that will reunite you with your husband, and when you see him you will have a fun story to tell him about your first flight. It's really an amazing thing to be able to fly and see the world from above the clouds - don't let yourself get so wrapped up in fear that you miss the beauty of it. It's a beautiful way to look at the world and see something amazing that your grandparents or great-grandparents probably never did.

If you still have issues with being afraid, feel free to talk to one of the flight attendants. They fly all the time for a living and will be able to set your mind at ease. Best wishes, and have a great time!

I was faced with similar last year. What worked: pack light & simple. There will be friendly, reassuring flight attendants & passengers. Break it up into smaller stages in your mind. 1.getting on the plane. 2.set up camp - make sure you have a water bottle, something to read, ipod, etc very easily accessible, but not so that it's crowding your neighbor. 3. move your left foot 50 times, then right, then hand, etc... all subtle so your neighbors don't go nuts, but so your mind is occupied with small tasks. 4. ENJOY THE VIEW! I was so pleasantly surprised at how surreal the view is - the clouds, etc are so beautiful from the top! 5. refer to a map to see how far you've travelled at different points....you'll be amazed! 6. breathe deep & force yourself to smile. you did it! It's never going to be my first pick for travel - I'm a driving girl all the way, but at least I know I can do it now. Best wishes to you on your trip!

hahaha you want to barrow so vicodin? No serious its good to do. I flew a couple of times to Asia, America and Europe. You know US have good control of the machines and engines.

Indonesia is a different story if you will fly there. i will get worry.

O yeah if you get turbulence (plane shaking) remember there cant happen anything. A plane cant crash on that. You can see it like wholes in the ground where the car is driving

goodluck

ps. to come back to your question.... puppy eyes makes wonders happen ;)

dont be worried , maybe the pasenger seeting next to u cant be patient , so just keep ur calm , it dosnt all this worry , take some magazines , sth that u can do , or maybe write ur feeling in paper , so u wont feel any worry . good luck ,and hpeu will had a good flighht. best of luck.

you can't go on "what ifs", I've been on 4 flights recently and nothing bad happened. If you do feel like becoming a "barnacle" to your fellow passenger: just explain your situation and they'll (well hopefully) be understanding and lend an arm :)

Becky
im sure if you explain the situation to them they will be fine!
And once you set off, you will probably wonder why you were so worried in the first place.

good luck
