Travelling on someone else's passport?

What are the chances of getting caught travelling on someone else's passport? Let's say it's a person that looks like you ex. your twin sister or just a sister, same age as you. Travelling from US to a European country, do they really examine the picture and what are the consequences of getting caught if the person is over 18?
Thank you in advance

I would say very very good, because they can spot when someone is being untruthful

you will go to jail, that is called fraud. And you will be banned from traveling outside your country for your lifetime, as well as the person whose passport you used, unless they can prove they did not know you had it. So then you will be charged with fraud and theft as well as countless other charges and if you are in a foreign country going to jail there would not be much fun.

You would be pretty silly to do that plain and simple.

Edit: when i present my passport, they examine it and ask me a few questions and then they scan it. So they do check the passport and the photo against the person presenting it.

dont even think of trying it sometimes they ask 4 addtl ID I would think jail overseas would suck

You gotta be kidding, right?

Why don't you just get your own passport and not take the chance of going to jail for years?

buttons
you would get caught. - it's a big no no!

I'm not sure what the penalty is but I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up in prison.

Security is really tight now days because of terrorism.

You can take a chance and try it and let us know what happens? Just keep in mind that airport security is required to check every travel document very thoroughly and chances are they will figure out that it's not your passport and you could be hauled off to jail for presenting stolen id, among other charges.

Or you can do the right thing and get your own.

its against the law, no chance!!!!!!!

you'll get thrown in jail. even if you do get on the plane at this end what happens if you get caught trying to come back dont be stupid!

Neil
Hmmm, isn't your same age sister who looks just like you usually your twin?

Anyway, you might well not get caught. But if you do, you'll be in trouble with both countries. Why would it be worth it?

Nowadays the passport is scanned and not examined by a person so it should be virtually impossible. Be careful, if you get caught you could be locked up.
