Watch a movie in your Ipod (if it's like an Ipod video).
Listen to music.
play games (like in your PSP, if you have one)
These are just one of the many things that I would do if I were in your place. |

I just came back from that same trip to Barcelona. Bring along a good headset or a inflatable pillow. The seats are pretty worn down unless you're flying first/business class.
I also brought along my Sony PSP (games/movies) and a new digital camera....trying to figure out how make is work.
Otherwise, you can watch the movies they have on the whole way there (are you taking the red-eye?)....otherwise try to sleep. The seats are uncomfotable/worn out....sorry I said that already.
Anyway, good luck! |

You've pretty much covered everything you can plan for.
Dress in comfortable clothes, with good socks. Drop your shoes in the overhead compartment right away, you'll feel better ( I always do that).
Be careful with alcohol because it's effect are increased in a plane and as the air is very dry, it could lead to nasty surprises.
On the flight to europe try to sleep to get in sync with local time. Most likely your flight will leave NYC in the late afternoon and land early morning in Barcelona. Remember you'll have to spend a whole day before going to sleep.
Chances are one of the movies will be to your liking, you'll have the meal also, that's 2h to 3h gone already.
And if you're bored go walk around the plane..... |

Yes, your Ipod, some games, a couple of books. A writing tablet and make sure you wear really comfortable clothes, and shoes. I am sure you will be shown a movie, hopefully you are sitting by someone who can give you if you like some really nice conversation. You will be fine. Pray, on it. The Lord will see you thru. |

Sounds like you have it covered, unless you want to pack some food or snacks since so many airlines have cut back so much. Going to Thailand I traveled 28 hours, I slept, watched a movie and read a whole book. |

A dvd player with some movies, a deck of cards, and a portable game system maybe?
You should have an inflight movie on the plane but just in case you don't like the movie, it's always good to have a back up plan.
Happy travels! |

When I flew to London, I slept, after I had exhausted the ideas you've stated. |

DON'T drink...you won't be able to get on the flights if you go crazy with alcohol!
sleep...read...listen to music...if you have a digital camera, you can take pics out the window if you have a window seat |

Bring a variety of books so you have a choice and try to sleep on the flight. |

uh... one question:
why do you want to bring your ipod when you can't recharge it in europe?!?
it'll just be extra weight.
how about you go to sleep... eat.. read a magazine.. or either
watch the movies on the airplane?!? |
