URGENT! what would the airline security do if i exceed the 100mL container or 3oz total of fluids? |
i dont have any other container for my contact lenses solution and i need it with me at all times especially in a 9 hr flight . it's a 360mL container but partly filled. i don't like flying with my eyeglasses on and now that this liquid rule has been implemented i'm not sure what i'd do about it. will they confiscate my contact lenses solution?
my flight is tomorrow, so i'd really appreciate some answers. thanks! |

Rather than go through the possible hassles at security and finding out if you can bring it, I would just buy a 3oz bottle and move the liquid to it. Less stress and worry.
I believe they take it away from you if it is > than 3oz. They would take it away from you if you did not have it in a zip lock out of your bag when going through the X-Ray. Don't forget to take the zip lock bag out of your bag before X-Ray. |

yes, put it in a smaller container, put the other container in your non carry-on luggage, or just buy some new solution at your destination. also, stores like harmons sell the containers you can take on planes and may even seel the small size contact solution |

This is kind of a no-brainer.
Put the lens solution in a few 3 ounce containers instead of in the one big bottle. If you try taking the big bottle through security, it will be taken away from you. |

Yes unfortunately they will... The actual container has to be 100mL or smaller, you can't have a larger container that's just partially filled. Do they make contact lens solution in smaller containers? (hehe, I don't wear contacts so I don't know). But the actual container must be 100mL or smaller. |

Quick answer: Yes. They'd confiscate it and throw it away. Worse case scenario - You'll be detained (especially when you start acting like you have the right and shout this is a free country all that stuff - you know what I mean.) |
