Its very unfortunate situation, but the tightened security is inevitable, and if you want to aportion blame, you have to look to the terrorists who want to disrupt western society ( 9/11, 7/7, etc.)

Airline officials are just abiding by the rule. "Safety first" before comfort. That's an additional burden on their part. Imagine yourself on a plane ready to be blown by the terrorist. You're given 15 seconds to talk with your loved one over the phone. The only important thing you can say is "I love you." You won't talk about anything else not even about your pets, your million dollars, your house and lots much less those banned liquids or gels that can be used to make bombs.
We've only got one life to live so might as well take all the precautionary measures.

Funny to blame Bush on this one when it was in England that they started banning these items first...

Truthfully, I hate the new rules but if this is what it takes to prevent sick minded individuals from detonating bombs on aircraft I'll accept it. It will just make me resent the terrorists that much more.

Well, tell you what: I am a frequent flyer and travelling isn't as much fun anymore as it used to be. But when I am boarding a plane I want to know that I am possibly very safe and therefore I take all the precaution in stride. You can't get stressed out about things you cannot change because you have no control over them. And you can't blame Bush for everything, that's a cop-out.

as f it wasn't already hard enough to get to the usa. i think you can't ban everything because there's a slight chance that something bad will happen. Plus, now that everyone's on the lookout, who would be stupid enough to try anything now.

I saw a piece on CNN yesterday saying that there are machines already in existence that can detect these chemical liquids the terrorists wanted to use, we just don't have them in our airports. What??? Basically because all of our mental and financial resources are being wasted killing people in Iraq for no reason. Is it 2008 yet?

I think its a little overboard. I haev to travel soon and its not like the airlines are 100% on getting our luggage on the right plane and to the same place on time- I don't want to have to buy everyting when i get there- I want my brand and my containers with me when I get off the plane...
Its an attempt to make it safe, I understand that, but they also need to look at what it is and who has it...

I totally agree. They are also showing the terrorist how afraid they are of them by taking all these precautions. I know better be safe than sorry, but I just think it's so paranoid now. Try being a foreigner traveling through the States. Just one look at your passport requires thorough search! and they keep saying at random..rrright!

Sorry but half of you are stupid, for one it's not Bush's fault these acts of terrorism go way back even past Bush Sr. Second, put your liquids in your checked baggage, how freakin hard is it, if you don't like the rules stop flying, the airlines don't need your money, baby bottles and formula are allowed if you'd listen to the news. Once again for those who think this is so stupid, may you be on the next plane that has a terrorist on it, then you may think differently when your plane is going down. STOP CRYING OVER STUPID THINGS that may SAVE YOUR LIFE.

but you also have to think about people that have been on cruises and they are bringing back all that alcohol. so they have to throw all of it away or they have to pack it with their luggage and risk it spilling on their clothes
