What's so best about first-class?

One of these things is that they're luxurious. What else?
Additional Details
And it's not just for airplanes. It'd also be for trains and other transportation.

It depends on the airline and how long the flight is. At the very minimum, on a shorter (or even some longer) domestic flight, the seats are larger and you get a free alcoholic drink. And you get to board the plane first. On longer flights, you get a meal. On international flights, you get even better meals, and seats recline even more (sometimes to almost laying flat - especially on really large aircraft that fly on longer international flights). Also more entertainment options - personal screens to watch movies and stuff. And on the longest international flights, on some airlines, you get perks like a bathrobe and toiletries and stuff like that. And really premium food and alcoholic drinks. Again, it all depends on the airline, type of aircraft, and how long the flight is.

On trains - I've only done business class but the difference is a free drink, free newspaper, and a somewhat bigger seat. A little nicer but not THAT different from the regular coach class. This was on Amtrak between Boston and NYC. The long distance trains with sleeper cars have more of a difference but I'm not sure of the specifics. And I'm not sure about international trains.

I'm a Flight Attendant and when I work First Class I have to watch the passengers constantly, call them by their names Mr. or Mrs. so'n'so... refill their drinks, take their glasses when empty. More or less just wait on them hand and foot. I personally like working the coach section much better, lol.

More money for more attention, comfortable seats and more space, less intrusion from other passengers, access to the restroom meant only for first class and quick exit.

You get to be treated like you are famous.

Besides having more room, depending on the airlines you can also get free food and drinks. Also they usualy have their own stewardess for the first class so they get much better service.

Square Pants
try to be there... only then you know how great is it to be in THE FIRST CLASS!!!

Usually the best flight attendants on board are serving first class. There is always more legroom, and the seats recline alot farther back, sometimes completely horizontal. The food service serves alot nicer foods and drinks. There are fewer passengers per restroom. And there's usually better choices in entertainment (if the aircraft has an onboard entertainment system).

Basically, they're just more of a luxury thing.

Really? You don't see it?! I have been flying since I was 2 months old... once a month at least! I have flown first class many times... HUGE seats opposed to cramped seats with 18 inch seats! In coach u are squashed together with fat people hanging over the armrest onto ur seat! U have to pay for ur meals and u only get pop! In first class u get a free hot meal and more drinks to chose from! And u get ALOT more room! Does that answer it for u lol
