of course it all depends on what you're looking for...but I would say New Zealand or Northern California near the Redwoods.

Ireland wins because it successfully combines the most desirable elements of the new (the fourth-highest GDP per head in the world in 2005, low unemployment, political liberties) with the preservation of certain cosy elements of the old, such as stable family and community life. Offsetting its poor climate and, by rich-country standards, gender inequality are a higher political stability and security. Even if GNP—not available for all countries, but in Ireland’s case significantly lower than GDP—is used to measure income, Ireland still wins.

I will go with New Zealand as ideal, but will settle for Thailand in the meantime.

After having lived near 30 years around the world, I think that the best place is near where you were born, close to your family and friends, if you can aford it. Sorry if it is a disappointing answer!

Melbourne

Low unemployment, low crime, low pollution, cosmopolitan, mild winter, cafes everywhere, heaps of venues (clubs, pubs), sports galore (Aussie Rules, cricket, football/soccer, basketball), easy to use transport system (much less congested than Sydney or London), decent city beaches, relatively clean.

Offcourse it is Kerala - the god's own country, where greenery is at its best.It is economic as well. The weathere is aleays pleasant and the best time will be september - march. The culture of the people is excellent and you can enjoy variety of foods including the native one.
there are a lot of fine beaches, lakes, wild life sanctuaries and kerala is famous for ayurveda and yoga. you can undergo class ayurvedic treatment here

Hermosa Beach, CA is the best to live. Beach with a strand for jogging or rollerblading and lots of outdoor activites readily available like volleyball and surfing. The pier is great for hanging out - lots of bars nad restaurants all over. Shopping is nearby in Manhattan and even Beverly Hills. It's close to freeways and LAX for getting around. And for entertainment you can't beat LA! - movies, sports, disneyland, etc...
