You sound like Jerry Seinfeld, but its true that people are paying a lot less for air travel (when adjusted for inflation) then they did when meals were included. Not only that, nobody liked the meals anyway. They were essentially TV dinners re-heated on the airplane. An airplane is for transportation, if you just want a good meal, go to a restaurant or bring something with you.

People wanted lower airfare, and that's what they got. The airlines save A LOT of money on not serving food on domestic flights, and make up some cash on selling snack boxes. As for International flights, it pays to sit in Business or First. The meals are MUCH better than economy.

I always liked it. I never had a bad airline meal, just never enough. Now that it's just pretzels and a soda on domestic flights I miss it.

I agree with meowcat1969, an airplane is not a restaurant. Anything you bring on board will almost certainly be better than what used to be served in economy. Subway sandwich, burrito, a sandwich from home are all good ideas. Don't try to bring on something big and messy, for instance a t-bone steak. If you are in business or first class, then that's much different, the food there is usually pretty decent. Expensive, but good.

With the rising gas prices they feel that it is best not to raise airline tickets and so they decide to keep charging the same and cutting out the food so it saves them more money. They start selling food to make more money and thus make someone of a profit.

They can't afford to give you a real meal since most airlines are operating "in the red."

I've never had a problem with airline food. SwissAir was very good when I took it (sadly, they no longer exist). Lufthansa had very nice German food. Malev has the best food in Europe though - not surprising though, Hungarian's always have good food. As for American airlines... well, they are a little... cheap, so the food has declined in taste. But oh well.

What is your question here???

are you complaining??

Is it that the meals suck or that the sucky meals aren't served anymore???

Bring a sandwich

Maybe???
Food on JAL (Japan Airlines) has always been very good, and in large enough portions.

chimster
Hahaha, that's funny. Airline "food".
