I prefer United Airlines primarily for their "Economy Plus" seating. My employer pays for my travel however they usually buy cheaper fares which are not upgradeable using frequent flyer miles or certificates. United lets its elite Frequent Flyers sit in Economy Plus for free so its a huge advantage during long overseas flights. The Economy Plus seats give you 3-5" of additional legroom which doesn't sound like much until you're stuck in regular economy for a 9 hour flight!
If you purchase an Economy Plus upgrade for an individual flight it typically runs about $20-50 depending on the flight, and if their are seats available. You can purchase unlimited annual access for $299 per year if you have multiple trips planned.
United also covers the routes I take most often so that's important too! |

Singapore Airlines are good for multiple reasons. Prices are usually competitive, the cabin crew are friendly even in economy, entertainment is very good with on demand TV and a range of music, games and even language lessons, food is usually good (again even in economy), drinks are supplied free on demand without any quibbles, the network is quite expansive and if they do not serve it a member of Star Alliance of which they are a member will provide a connection and, perhaps most important of all, they are relaxed if you have up to 10KG of excess baggage and rarely charge any extra.
However, the nicest thing was that when I checked in after my wedding in Vietnam we got special seats, champagne, a cake and card from the crew and visit from the captain, not many airlines do that.
For the future they will be first to fly the new Airbus 380 double decker super plane that will make flying a whole new experience.
Finally, though not the airline itself, routing through Singapore's Changi Airport is great, free city tours can even be arranged for layovers of over 4 hours - though there is plenty to do in the terminal which is huge and even has a roof garden.
I have flown more than 50 airlines and travel 20 times or more a year and Singapore is consistently good whenever I use them and whatever the class. |

I like US Airways. Always had good service from them, fair price, and lots of times and destinations. Travel out from many spots and some have connecting flights. Real easy to work with and the planes are decently clean and are maintanenced like they should be. Overall a very good airline. |

British Airways are far better than any other airline going in this whole universe. The beds that you get in Club World and First are super and the meals are from all corners of the earth. One of the best airlines and because they have 1 terminal all to them self (Terminal 5 in Heathrow - Opening March 2008) and they have a terminal in New York - JFK - named after them, go with them, annoy Easjet!! |

Qantas. Good food, good wine, and when it lands, I am back home in Australia! Beats the heck out of the puddlejumper conference flights and the weekend getaway flights. |

South African Airways. Good services and they provide what they say they will provide. They fly all over Africa. I would have said British Air, but their website services really stink. But as far as the flying experience, they are pretty good. Most of the US carriers leave a lot to be desired, and I am an American. |

Delta. Cheaper tickets and unlike American Airlines , Delta will feed you. Delta never lost my bags and I never got ripped off. |
