I've been to quite a few airports and the best by far are the small ones ... I am fed up walking miles and miles down interminable bland corridors at any of the big airports
the small airports are human-size and you can get through customs, immigration and onto your flight without having to go on a ten-mile hike
the last airport I went to was Luqa in Malta and it was quite good, probably because it's a relatively small airport and we were out of season so it wasn't crowded at all ... I also remember Inverness airport in Scotland with pleasure, it again was small and very friendly
the absolute worst was the international airport in Kuala Lumpur where our aircraft gate both on arrival and departure seemed to be the furthest from the main part of the terminal (despite being on a flight of their national airline) ... on arrival we were transiting onto an internal flight ... we had an hour and a half to make the change but it was such a walk we ended up having to run like mad to make it ... it's a very attractive (architecturally) airport but the sheer size of it makes it unworkable ... that plus the fact that a taxi ride into KL is such a long way that it cost more for the taxi fare than the hotel room for the night and there didn't seem to be any form of mass transportation between the city and the airport
I remember being pleasantly surprised at Auckland airport in New Zealand ... they had little gardens and waterfalls down the corridors as you walked through from the aircraft which was lovely ... but this nice first impression was completely killed by the huge long queues at customs and immigration, I think we were in the immigration queue for well over an hour, which is definitely NOT what you need after a long-haul flight |

Been to the following airports:
New York JFK
New York LaGuardia
Boston Logan
Williamsburg, VA airport
Raleigh-Durham International
Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International
Chicago O'Hare
Dallas Forth Worth International
Cincinnati, OH International (CVG)
Detroit Metro
Los Angeles International (LAX)
San Diego Lindbergh Field
Seattle-Tacoma International
Minneapolis-St. Paul International
Albuquerque, New Mexico Airport
Pittsburgh International
Dayton, OH Airport
Fayetteville, Arkansas Regional Airport
Honolulu International
Kona, HI International
Kahului, Maui International
Chiang Kai-shek, Taipei, Taiwan International
Kai-Tek, Hong Kong International
Will be flying into San Francisco International, Hong Kong's new airport, Singapore's Changi International and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this summer. I have heard Changi is a really nice airport.
I am thinking with Detroit, since the airport is really new due to the whole renovation project that was undertaken, it would be a really nice airport. I have heard good things about that. When I was in Detroit, the airport was still the old layout so I was not impressed.
The only reason I like LAX and New York JFK is because you can see a variety of different airlines and aircraft. The airports themselves are not that impressive.
Denver International should be the largest airport in the U.S. in terms of size. |

I've been through too many airports to list, in Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America, so I'll put the last 6 I went to here:
Cairo International Airport; Cairo, Egypt
Charles de Gaulle International Airport; Paris, France
London Heathrow Airport; London, England
Schippol Airport; Amsterdam, Netherlands
Rome Fuimincino Airport; Rome, Italy
NSCBI Airport; Kolkata, India
Washington Dulles International Airport; Washington D.C., USA (home airport!)
Out of all of the ones I've been through, my vote goes to Schippol. Clean, efficient and, dare I say, fun. There are lots of shops (See. Buy. Fly. LOL) and restaurants to amuse yourself in, and the whole setup is just great. |

You Know Im Right

I've literally been to at least fifty airports around the world and the nicest by far is the one in Bilbao, Spain. It is quite small but it has everything you need (neat shops, great bookstore, convenient transportation into the city), it isn't crowded and the bonus is the great architecture-it was designed by Santiago Calatrava. What more could you want? |

I've been to:
Dallas-Ft.Worth
Seattle-Tacoma
Chicago Midway
Salt Lake City International
Albuquerque
Atlanta
Las Vegas McCarran
Tampa
My favorite of these is Las Vegas. It's nice, smooth, and sometimes you can keep yourself occupied playing some casino games.
Hope this helps |

Been through too many airports to list, but regarding the best airport, no doubt about it for me: Singapore Changi airport. Changi is very user friendly, not crowded and has so many diversions that you don't even mind a connection there. Check out the indoor tropical garden with fish ponds, the top floor outdoor sunflower garden with a view of the runways, free movie theater, and even free live music performances. Duty free shopping is good and there are loads of interesting restaurants.
For Europe, I'd vote Amsterdam Schipol.
For that matter, most of the new airports in Asia are not bad at all, the relatively new Seoul airport being an example. Unfortuately, it seems to me that most large airports in the USA have become crowded and with few diversions for a long connection, so I'm not sure what I could nominate here.
For reference, here are some links to a reputable ranking survey for airports worldwide:
Five star airports (Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore):

Four star airports (Amsterdam, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Zurich):
