if the planes were crashing much then the airline wouldnt be running.
but yes, southwest and skybus are a few that come to mind. where i live in the UK it would be Ryanair or Easyjet

Southwest is the cheapest in my area--the planes aren't super fancy, but they actually have the nicest flight attendants.

It depends where you want to go....

for Europe Easyjet/Ryanair are the best and quite comfortable considering they are budget airlines. Look at the days carefully because some days they are £9 and others they are £50.

jetblue and spirit have cheap seats and they are a very budget airline. Spirit travels mostly to the caribbean but do a few flights in the US mainland. Jetblue mostly do flights in the US and a few to the caribbean.
