10 hours is kind of a short flight, no? Surprised you'll get bored ;-)
I think you should pick your airline carefully, along with your seat. Try to find an airline with multiple channels of entertainment, or even better, the ability to start and stop entertainment at your demand (Cathay). If the plane has 15 movies, there are bound to be 3 or 4 that you can watch, which will kill 6-8 hours.
Check http:/seatguru.com to see if you have a good seat and.or laptop power (which means DVDs all flight).
Figure something like this:
Takeoff/Level Off--30 minutes
Meal Service -- 45 minutes (1:15 hour down)
First Movie -- 2 hours
Bathroom break, stretch - 10 minutes (3:35 down)
Second Movie -- 2 hours
Bathroom break, stretch - 10 minutes (5:45 down)
Third Movie -- 2 hours
Bathroom break, stretch - 10 minutes (7:55 down)
Ok, now you can take a quick rest (always recommended). Even if you can't sleep, close your eyes and try not to do much. Just relax for a bit--even if only 30 minutes. This will greatly help with jetlag and other things.
You've now done 8:25, with an 1:35 to spare. There will probably be a snack service, like lunch or breakfast. Figure 20 minutes to eat and to clear.
1:15 left to go.
Read a book, an inflight magazine, do the crossword puzzle in the back of the book. Say this is 30 minutes.
You are now down to 45 minutes. This is really getting to be the last time you can get up, so take advantage and walk around to stretch your legs.
You'll note there are lots of breaks and stretches. This important as a) you want to drink a lot of water to avoid dehyrdation on a long flight (some recommend 12 oz an hour, i.e. one bottle) and b) you want to stretch to keep the blood moving in your body and avoid DVT. Both of these things, along with a short nap, will really help with the jet lag.
With about 30 minutes left, you'll get a warning of final approach. Clean up your area and get out your passport / vias /paperwork. Fill in the forms if need be.
You should be landing soon. Thanks for flying |

Take a good book or some magazines to read. If you have an MP3 player, listen to some good music for some time. Talk to your neighbor or just sleep. |

Read; watch the movie; take a nap; crossword puzzles; listen to music quietly so as not to annoy your seat neighbor. |

books, sleep, listen to music... the plane i travelled on from england to the states had seperate monitors for every person and you could either watch movies, play mario and games like it, watch comedies etc. whenever i wanted not when they scheduled it. i dont know if you'll be lucky enough to get a plane like that but if so that should keep you fairly occupied. |

i have my ipod with my own movies and I watch them. Listen to music and I make myself real tired before I get on the plane. Usually very little sleep the night before. I've sleep almost the whole trip to argentina which was 13 hours long. I only woke up because we had to get off in miami for an hour. |

Take an Ambien and wake up right before you get to your destination. |

Well,..... Since you asked you could.........
Get the pilot to show you round the cockpit, come out afterwards and say "YOU WOULDN'T HAVE THOUGH HE COULD FLY THE PLANE AFTER SO MUCH VODKA BUT IT JUST SHOWS, THEY REALLY ARE TRUE PROFESIONALS!".
Delight your fellow passengers with your impression of a plane crashing in to the sea, complete with sound effects.
Enthrall your companions on the plane by telling them that you knew the pilot of Buddy Holly's plane and you're pretty sure he trained at the same place as your current pilot.
Give a fact filled guide of the area you are flying over, this can include " And if you look to your right you will see the wreckage of our sister plane, after she was shot at and subsequently crashed in to that mountain side which, as you can see, her burnt out hull remains embedded in, the bodies were never found.'
Streak.
Occasionally scream........loudly.
Golly gee think of ALL this fun ( and possible legal consequences) Well being serious read is about your best bet or hopefully get a window seat. 10 hours can sometimes go by pretty fast with a nice view |

Read, listen to music. Many airplanes now have built-in tv screens that you can watch movies, tv, or play games. Whatever you do, DON'T bug your neighbour. |
