There should be lots of movies you can choose from on that flight. But the best thing to combat jet lag is to sleep. I flew from Cincinnati, Ohio to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Didn't sleep until the San Francisco to Singapore flight. But I did arrive refreshed at Malaysia and was able to go out and do sightseeing. Everyone was pretty surprised that I did was not tired and stayed awake until it was nighttime.
The best way to combat jet lag is to follow the time in Australia. Your body will be on a different time zone but fight the urge to sleep. You can go to bed early such as 9:00 pm but try not to sleep during the daytime. |

mp3 player, movies (unless you're travelling United in Economy in which case you don't have seatback TVs), books, magazines... |

you can use the time (15 hours) to sleep, read books, watch movies on the airplane, listen to your music on an mp3 player...draw (bring a writing pad), take pictures of family members, listen to music on the plane that tey provide..read magazines, |

Planes now a days have lots of facilities. You can watch films, tv shows, listen to music or play games.
You could also read. If you are flying through the night the plane will be really quite and the cabin crew will ask for the window shutters to be closed to help people sleep.
You will be flying over the pacific I guess, if so remember that you will loose a day when you cross the international date line.

I always make sure I'm good and tired before I get on a plane, maybe by staying up all night to pack. You can read, sleep, talk to your neighbour, have dinner, have a drink if you're old enough, watch movies or listen to music from the plane's system, play cards, play with electronic stuff you bring with you, watch the clouds if you have a window seat. Still, 15 hours is a long flight and I'm glad it's not me. |

Sleeping sounds like a good ideal. To help fall asleep, try buying a sleep aid. Unisom works wonders, but simply sleep and tylenol Pm will also work. Also with such a long flight, im sure the airlines will be playing movies and shows around the clock to keep you entertained!! |

How exciting! I would be board too. Here are some tips.
1. Leave your house AT LEAST one hour early
2. Be at the airport 2 hours early.
3. Security line will be long, be prepared to wait.
4. Make sure all your liquids are 3 oz. or less and in a ziplock bag.
5. Keep all personal belongings with you the whole time.
Now I will help you figure out what to do.
Bring your Ipod, mp3, music player, etc.
Books! you will need books!
Make sure you bring food from home the airline doesn't taste so good...
Bring gum and ear plugs.
Bring your own head phones.
Money!
Extra pair of cloths, toothbrush, toothpaste hair brush, comb and deo.
Blanket
I hope I helped! Have a super duper fantastic totally awesome trip in Australia! &:-) |

Wow, 15 hours! Well, I've traveled a lot recently...from the US to the UK and from the US to Spain...plane rides will most likely be uncomfortable at times...especially when you want to sleep. Definitely get a window seat so that you can lean against it, and a great idea is to bring an iPod and listen to that, some relaxing music perhaps, as you fall asleep. If you dont have a pillow, smush your jacket against the wall of the plane (this really helps me). To pass the time, there will be the in-flight movie (luck of the draw that it will be a good one) and meal times. You should bring a good book to read, and some chewing gum for when the plane takes off, and maybe some Sudoku do solve.
Also, get up to use the bathroom every few hours (really just to stretch your legs). Hope this helps! |
