If it is a large airline and will have many other passengers on board you might want to invest in the head phones for the movie. That'll cost somewhere between 5 and 15 bucks, but most airlines let you keep the head phones and watch other movies when you fly with them.
If you don't like to read you could do Soduko or cross word puzzles.
If you're into art take a sketchpad and doodle some stuff.
There's always the default activety: sleep. |

Drink/Get Drunk
Chat-Up the flight attendants.
Harass and scare the little children
However, I really think reading is the best choice. You should try reading a shorter novel maybe, or even an autobiography. |

I always get very antsy on airplanes. My suggestion? Take along some music, it'll calm you down, and keep you a little entertained. Maybe bring some cards and play card games? If you're taking a daytime flight over a more populated area, it can be interesting to watch the scenery out the window.
But really, if all else fails, I'd suggest going to sleep. |
