Stewardess for females and steward for males--at least that is what it used to be. I believe today the policially correct term is flight attendent for both sexes. |

they are there on-board for your safety and service.
an airline stewardess or flight attendent... attends to your needs while on a flight.
you cannot judge all air hostesses by an experience with one of them. |

Useless?? I was on a flight coming back from Las Vegas and wanted a soda, so I hit my light to call the attendant. She comes up there, I ask for a soda, and she told me next time I should just come back there and get one. I'm like..back the truck up here woman, this is your JOB and you want me to get up and go track down a drink, I don't think so. |

First of all, they are not waitresses. Their main job is to save you if the airplane goes down. Trust me, if you're on an airplane that's having problems, the last person you want helping you is a waitress. You call them steward/stewardess or flight attendants. Remember, they are there to save your life, not just to serve you coffee. |
