Depending on the airline, they should show at least one movie (take your own headset or you may have to purchase one.) That is usually followed up by some type of television programming. You can call your airline's reservation number and they will be able to tell you if it is a movie flight. You need to also ask if food will be served. If they say a snack, have them define snack. It could be anything from a sandwich to a bag of pretzels. Some airlines sell food on board (sandwiches, salads, candy, chips, etc.) so you may want to make sure you have a little cash. Besides that, you are generally on your own for entertainment. Take your ipod, book, puzzles, etc...have a great trip!

I go on a 9 hour flight every summer. To pass time I bring several, at least 3, books and magazines. If one gets boring I would hate to be stuck with only that one. An ipod/mp3 player is a must, and of course make sure its charged. Try to sleep if your flying at night. Watch the movies if there good, the air lines I take usually offers a couple of different choices. If all else fails, get to know the person your sitting next to, you never know who you'll meet!

bring along a portable dvd player or get a good book. Myself I'm a student so I'd use at least some of the time to study with. That long of a trip I'd probably catch a nap too.
