Im 13 and actually on a holiday now in europe. I live in Australia so the total flying time was around 22 hours, we went through tokyo and most of the flight i was watching movies or playing games on my laptop. On JAL which is wat we went on from tokyo, they had 100v power in the seats so i used that to keep the laptop going the whole time. |

Read/Sleep... this is what all others do...
and some like you are bored!!!
I feel that's an opportunity for you to get to know people...
look at the diversity you find... try to make freinds...
but.. be careful of choosing as they are strangers to you :) |

Yeah totally bring your DS! I'm 20 and I usually bring my mp3 player and I buy some good magazines before I leave for a long flight. Buy them at Walmart, they're cheaper. If you don't like magazines bring book or two. You could also consider getting those travel games to play with your brother, maybe scrabble or yahtzee..if they have monoploy that would be good too. Have fun! |

Buy some of you favorite magazines that you can enjoy yourself reading while killing time. How many hours is your flight? Games are fine, as long as you turn off the volume or set it to minimal, cos other passengers may get annoyed with that and complain. I know, like, we're on a plane, not a library. Shesh! But it does happen, and you do need to consider other ppl first. Other than that, just take a nap. Time fly by real fast when you sleep. If you're going on a long trip to another country or something, you should get as much sleep as you possibly can, to avoid jet lag. I'm gonna be going on a 22hrs flight, so I'm gonna get lots of beauty sleep on flight. Yeah, I'm gonna be one of those cranky people if you are gonna play your DS. |

a book will always work unless you don't like reading. sleeping is the best boredom killer. music in your mp3 would also be handy. watching whatever film they're showing. |

I'm from Singapore and I just came back from a holiday to Australia. First things first, it all really depends on the airline --- best airline to choose is of course, SINGAPORE AIRLINES.
Visit <www.singaporeair.com> to see a list of only just SOME of the movies.
Every single seat -- from Economy Class to First Class is well-equipped with a multimedia "set". There's a screen in front of every single seat. Watch movies, top-rated TV programmes, documentaries, play games (they even have Nintendo games like Super Mario and two-player games where you can play with someone else on the plane -- so you don't need to bring along your Nintendo DS), check on the flight path and much much more. If its a day flight and you arrive at your destination in the evening/night DO NOT sleep or else you'll get jetlag. Because if you don't sleep and you arrive at your destination at night, you will obviously feel tired, so at THAT country's nighttime, you will sleep and you'll feel refreshed the next morning - no more jetlag. If you arrive at your destination in the morning/early afternoon, just sleep on the whole flight so you will feel refreshed --- so it will be like you just woke up from a good night's sleep in THAT country.
Read a book, watch a movie, play hangman with your brother (it's a really fun game when you get bored on the plane) or go to sleep... just do ANYTHING you can do on the plane. Maybe its best to bring your iPod along so you can just relax or play games and listen to music. Hope this helps and happy holidays. Have a merry Christmas! =P |

Some airlines don't allow you to play video games while in flight...you need to check with the airlines. You should try to get the window seat and put your brother on the aisle so he has easy access to the back of the plane. |

read, watch a movie, listen to music, sleep. When I was a teen, a used to do homework on long flights. That way, I have something to pass the time and I get my school work out of the way. |

take a book to read, i am not sure if they will allow you to have the ds on the plane or not. or you can rent the earphones and listen to the inflight movie if they have one. i always like to just watch the ground outside. it looks so pretty from up in the air. i wish they would allow cameras. |

Sleep, read, listen to your music, book a window seat and watch the world go by, by a small travel pack of miniature jigsaw /s (ask me where to get these from), keep your seat belt on, but mostly enjoy. A. |

Read books or, if you have trouble concentrating on a book in flight, get some magazines. If you're 13, maybe you'd like a gaming magazine since you like DS. Also good are pencil and paper games like word finds or Sudoko. How about listening to music on an MP3 or portable CD player? |

I am the complaint manager of a major airline...so...in deferring to my greater authority...for the rest of your days on Earth...you shall do the following during an airplane flight...
1. Sit down and shut up...:)
2. Get the headphones on, reading material within reach, keep the seatbelt loose, but on...just in case turbulence might happen...watch the movie previews and the movie and the shows on afterward even if you've seen them already...do not ever press the button overhead that shows a picture of the flight attendant...that is for medical emergencies only...you allowed to get up as often as you like when the seatbelt light is off to get things like pillows and blankets, and such from the overhead compartments...the flight attendants main job is to protect the safety of the passengers...all of their training is "life-saving" training and stuff...the food and beverage cart service is a "courtesy" NOT a "right" for you to have...they are NOT in flight table waitresses awaiting your every beck and call...be nice...they also have the right to have you thrown out of the plane during flight if you are a "bad girl..." So...
Behave yourself...
THAT is what you are going to do...Why?!?
Because I damn well say so, that's why... |
