USAir will resume nonstop summer service daily between PHL and ATH on May 4.

If you have specific dates, try http://www.bookingbuddy.com which will search both published and unpublished fares from airlines direct, Orbitz, Kayak, Cheaptickets, CheapO, etc. etc. all in one go.

Cheap deal! of course!! What dates are you looking for? if ts feb or march you have plenty chance to get taht fare. If you are looking at Dec-Jan... its next to impossible!

When are you going? The further ahead you book, the better price you will usually get. This site lists great cheap travel sites: http://www.travelbargainsites.com There is a site that compares all the airlines for the best fare.

I can ALMOST do that...but not quite:

Virgin has an offer of about $500 from NYC or DC to London.

And then with EasyJet you can fly London to Athens for about $120, depending on the dates you fly (be sure to remove the travel insurance if you do not need it).

So your total would be $620, but you have to get to NYC or DC.

But becareful, it can be dangerous to book to separate flights to arrive and depart on the same day. If your Virgin flight is delayed you can miss your EasyJet flight and lose your money. So you might want to spend the night in London before going on to Greece.

Also, remember the EARLIER you book your flights, the cheaper they will be. If you wait too long, the cheap seats will be gone.

PS: I tried the Iberian flight recommended by flash_flotsam but there must be something wrong, Iberia does not appear to have a flight between Philadelphia and Athens. You'll see that if you try to book it.

A search on farecompare.com indicates a fare from Philadelphia to Athens for $526 on Iberia Airways, but it's not clear whether there will be a fuel surcharge on top of that as well.
