who cares, they are jacking up the prices anyways, and on top of the the airline industry doesnt accomodate them on fuel costs, so they are a bit SOL. :) but i dont think will go bankrupt because they still have a preety big market and customers.
It all depends on the financials of the airline. Airlines with plenty of money (like Southwest) hedge their fuel costs (buy fuel now for future deliveries) so they have a financial advantage when fuel prices go up. The best thing to do is to check the analysts opinion of the airline through S&P or some other agency. If they are saying sell the stock then there could be problems.

it all depends on what the ruling elite decide to do about the energy situation. since they do not yet have cheap nuclear fusion generators as yet, they will not likely let air travel just dry up.
