What does an airplane ride really feel like DONT LIE?

It's like sitting on a bus that's going about 200 MPH that suddenly leaves the ground and you keep climbing until you're at about 30-35,000 ft. Once you're in the air, it's like sitting in your living room except for the noise of the engines unless you encounter turbulence and bounce around a bit. When you land you slowly descend until you feel a slight bounce when you hit the ground and you then come to a grinding halt and taxi to your gate, that's about it.

It is the most wonderful experience. The clouds of singing angels. The delicious food. The comfort. The individual service from the most beautiful and accommodating people. They are all so much better than anything you will get on the ground.

Damn. I lied. I hate it when that happens.

Why would anyone lie? It doesn't feel much like anything. There's just a little movement.Kinda like being on a train or bus.

Fraser
I might lie. I think I'll pass on this one.

My first impressions when I took my first ride in a jet airliner:

• The airplane seemed a lot more flimsy than I expected. Of course, I knew it wasn't actually flimsy, it's just built to be very light and strong, but when you first walk in it still feels kind of flimsy, compared to a car or a train.

• It was pretty noisy. Most of the noise comes from the air rushing past the airplane as it flies, and some of the noise comes from the engines. It was like being in a small car riding very fast on the highway.

• Most of the time the ride is so smooth you can't tell that you are moving (way smoother than a car or train or boat). Sometimes the airplane would move up and down or side to side a little, like driving over a bumpy road. Also, when the plane turns, you feel like you are going up or going down.

• At take-off, the airplane accelerated really fast, like a racing car, and when it left the ground, it zoomed upward like a very fast elevator. It was impressive (and I thought it was great fun).

• At landing, the airplane drops a bit, then levels off, then drops a bit, then levels off, and so on, until it finally reaches the ground. There's quite a bump when the wheels touch, and rolling along the runway is very bumpy (at take-off and at landing) and noisier than flying in the air.

• There are strange noises at some points, such as when the landing gear is extended or retracted, and when flaps or spoilers (parts of the wings that slide out) are extended or retracted.

* Your ears pop a lot after take-off and before landing. Sometimes they stay plugged for a while after you land, which is annoying.

• The view out the windows is great during take-off and landing. It can get boring during the rest of the flight, though, because you mostly just see clouds and the ground way down below (too far away to see many interesting details).

it is not much.... you sit in a seat, you dont do much.... you can bring a movie or laptop or any thing, no cell phones thow..... so ya have fun on a plane ride!

It depends what size plane you go on. But it's not that bad. If you go on a normal size plane you feel the movement a little(mostly when you're taking off and landing or in turbulence) and sometimes your ears pop which is uncomfortable. Chew lots of gum while you are landing and taking off. I think that's about it. Hope that helps!

Mike V
There's not much to it and certainly no need to lie about it.

It's kind of like a train ride, a little movement. You just can't really watch much out the window except some clouds and the occasional other plane. Kind of bland, just like the "food" they serve you.
