What drugs should I take to get on a plane? |
I am scared as HELL about getting on a plane.
I am currently planning to stay up all night the night
before the flight, and take a bunch of sleeping pills the
morning of the flight. I need to take some more medication to
impede my judgement enough and pretty much knock me out so I don't even realize what is going on before I get on the
flight. I don't care too much about the risk, even a 1 in 500
chance of death is acceptable to me to avoid the horrible
terror that getting on a plane brings me. |

You should not take drugs, nor should you get on a plane. |

I do not suggest staying up all night before your trip. I deal with anxiety a lot and when I haven't had enough sleep, it makes my anxiety 10 times worse.
No need to overdose on sleeping pills...See a doctor and get a prescription for Xanax or something else to sedate you a little. If you can't do that, Benedryl is always good for knocking you out.
If you find yourself on the plane, unable to sleep or relax, find something to keep yourself distracted. Talk to the people around you or play a handheld video game or listen to music. Get up and walk around the plane as much as possible. Being confined to that little seat can only make things worse. |

ask your Dr. for something . If you are stoned or groggy and the airline employees notice they have the right to refuse boarding. my Dr. gave 2 sleeping pill 1 to get there & 1 to get home. that were fast acting and lasted for 6 hours which was close to the length of my flight. |

If your scared of flying, why the hell would you get on an airplane! I recommend not taking any medications. You might do something drastic and end up in the hands of airport security. Just face your fears. BE A MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

only over the counter medications such as tylenol, motrin, sudafed, etc.
(p.s. remember not to bring any liquid's of any kind with you, air line policies) |

None, because they won't let you on the plane if you show signs of being under the influence of drugs.
Rather, go to a therapist. That, or drive it into your head that it is about two thousand times more dangerous to drive to the airport than it is to actually fly in one.
2000x as dangerous to drive.
The chances of the plane crashing badly are 1 in 11,000,000. |

Talk to your doctor and get a prescription. Over-the-counter sleeping pills can make you MUCH more anxious, especially if you take too many. Prescription sleeping pills can make you a little crazy, too.
I would recommend a prescription anti-anxiety drug, like Ativan. Make sure you ask the Dr. what the absolute maximum is you can take. Sleeping pills and anxiety pills can actually have an opposite effect if you take too many. Don't drink with either of them.
Make sure you're acting ok before you board. What I would do is board with an empty stomach, and chew up a pill with a full glass of water like two minutes before you board. The airline will refuse to take you if they think you're drunk or doped up. I hope you're going with someone else who can halfway look out for you.
Good luck! |

Dont worry about it, I used to be afraid of flying, but I just dealt with it. If you dont get on the plane, how are you going to get anywhere. |

dont overload on the drugs, if you are too impaired you wont be allowed on the plane. Also remember that when you are flying at 30,000+ ft, everything affects you differently. You dont want to have the plane have to land because you overdose on drugs. I would just bring a benadryl or something to take in the beginning before take off. The rest of the flight isnt as scary once you take off. You should talk to a DR next time and have him prescribe you a valium or something of the sort if you anxiety is that bad. |

I am perfectly serious with this answer. Go to a Certified Hypno-Therapist with your concern. Your problem will be resolved very easily, safely, AND permanently.
Again, I am completely serious. Do it this way. If you were doped up to the extent that you propose, you would probably be prevented from going on the flight because of your impaired condition. |

Ambien Xanax, or Tylenol PM are the most frequent sleep aids that I've seen used. Do NOT mix or take more than recommended. Stay off caffeine for a few days prior to flying. |
