What fellow passenger behavior irritates you on an airplane?

The number one most irritating behavior for me is people blocking the aisle during boarding.

Indeed. I am never sure why - if you are on budget airlines - people cannot simply go halfway up or down the plane and SIT DOWN. And why - when seats are allocated does the airline simply not send people on in the reverse order of their seats.

I have been on airlines where the plane has missed its slot for takeoff because people would not board and sit down quickly.

Another gripe is when passengers [who are limited to a small hand baggage item] bring on huge items which will not fit the lockers

For me, it's when those sitting next to you want to chat the entire trip. It doesn't matter to them if your eyes are closed and you are trying to nap or even if you have headphones on. They just keep talking and talking and talking..... Also, people who smell awful. We're in closed quarters on a plane and there is no excuse for someone to have offensive body odor. Please be kind to your neighbor

People who are rude to the flight attendants and talk down to them and or moan and complain when they are stuck on the tarmac for 3 hours. None of us want to be there and it is obvious they are not going to swing the plane back around to let one impatient twit off. This happens quite often when one attempts to fly to Newark because that airport is a big black hole that has ground stops all too often.

Also, people who leave rancid farts. The kind that linger forever and make me want to throw up. What the hell do they eat before they get on board? Seriously, if you have to pass gas and you ate a chili dog with onions earlier, get up and go to the bathroom.

I've got so many!

-People who are in row 45 and look at every row number from 1 as they walk down the plane....is it really going to jump from 3 to 45 for no reason?
-Bad smells (no deodrant, smelly foods)
-People who chew gum with their mouths open
-People that 'snort up' instead of blowing their noses.
-People that change their babies nappies in the seat, or on the drinks table between seats (in domestic F for example)
-People who can't store their bags in the overhead properly.

I'll be back to edit this!

For me its putting the seat all the way back when you are in economy, I know that you can but give the person behind you a break, especially if they are tall. Another thing is parents that let their kids make a huge mess with snacks they bring on board. You might be irritated that food isn't served, but the people cleaning the planes don't even work for the airline, they are contracted.

heckenhocker
When the person behind me puts his knees in the back of the chair shoving my back (seat back upright....). And then fidgets, so shoves again and again. I know the seat gaps aren't huge, but usually when you turn round to complain it's not some really tall guy, just someone slumped with knees far forward.

not doing what the flight attendent asks you to do!

I have been on two flights where that has happened.

the first one, a lady asked for a cup of coffee in the row behind us. The flight attendent then asked the man right infront of her to put his seat up a bit so she could put her coffee down. He did it, but then got angry because he wasnt lying back and gradually put his seat back again. The FA then asked him to put it p, then he just refused.

Then on the last flight I was on, a guy put his seat right back on me (and im tall!!) so I just went with it. And then just before landing, the FA asked him to put his seat up, he did...I went 'YAY!!' (in my head) and then as soon as she left he put it back again!!!

Its just ignorant people who spoil great trips!

Kicking the back of my seat would have to be the most annoying, especially on long flights when I'm trying to get some sleep. Also, people making a lot of noise.
