What form of ID could a 14 year old use to board an airplane?
If you are traveling within the U.S., children under 18 are not required to have I.D. See site below. If you are traveling alone, I think it is WISE to have I.D....like a school I.D. or a state I.D. card. Only if you are flying to another country do you need a passport.

I didn't need any kind of ID when I boarded. But I was with my mom. Try using a school ID or a military ID if you have one.

Depending on where you're travelling to/from only a passport will be a valid form of identification.
School passes can easily be forged and a birth certificate does not have any photo to identify you by.
