Bye Bye Birdie! |

If it's a small bird, such as a sparrow or a pigeon, not much, other than killing the bid, obviously.......however, a Canadian Goose is an entirely different matter- it will destroy the delicately balanced spinning turbine within the engine, and the engine will cease functioning, and possibly explode or catch fire. |

First off the flight is canceled. The engine will need to be tested and checked off by a certified mechanic. If you are thinking explosion then it would depend on the size of the bird. A goose may make bad things happen any thing smaller will not cause much to happen. |

If it's a big bird it can be very serious. If the engine is damaged they can shut it down.
All commercial planes today are multi-engine and can fly just fine with one engine shut down. But they might land somewhere close just to be safe, and transfer everyone to another plane. (This may involve a delay because they usually don't have spare airplanes just sitting around.)
When I was learning to fly, I was taking off once when my instructor tapped me on the shoulder and pointed out the window. There was a mallard duck flying alongside us, same speed and angle and everything, just under the wing! I asked later if they ever were a problem for small planes and she said once in a great while, not very often. |

Aeroplane engines are designed to be able to with stand several birdstrikes, the bird would be smashed to pieces! thats what would happen! |

Well, generally the bird dies. Normally the engines are not affected, since they have been designed and tested - believe it or not by shooting dead chickens into the engines - to withstand this. |

The bird will get chopped up (well maybe not that gory) well it is so long farewell!
A few months ago a Portugese Carrier had a bit of an issue
-A swarm of bees got stuck in its engines. |

Well, the poor thing would more than likely die. I actually saw a video of it just the other day and upon take off, the bird was flying across the take off strip and got sucked into the engie. The engine immediately burst into flames as it was taking off into the air and continued to flame even as they rose higher and higher. They had to make an emergency landing. |

It can surprise us by still living and the engine in failure
just kidding
it will damage the engine if it is a big one,if it is small it can damage or not too.
we cant say as many crashes r done by these type incidents. |
