What happens if you flush the airplane toilet while sat on it?

I know this is a stupid question and I'm guessing "Nothing" But with all that suction and your legs closed surely something? :)

They did this on Mythbusters last year. With the old toilets the airlines used to use, it was actually POSSIBLE to get suctioned to the seat (although I don't think it ever really happened.) Mostly because the toilet itself was quite small. But the ones they use now are different, nothing would happen.

You can watch a clip from the show if you go to discoverychannel.com and put in a search for 'airplane toilet.' It will the the third video clip listed. Although it's not the full episode, you can see him get stuck to the seat. Which is pretty funny!

yofool yea yea
haha colon gets sucked out? yeah right, if tht happend or anything bad the airline would get used and possibly go out of buisness. They dont want th customer to be hurt

Brandon
Nothing will happen because inside an airplane, it basically has its own "septic tank" protected from the outside of the plane.

nothing happens, they tested this on mythbusters and because of the toilet seat and other factors, there's just not enough suction to suction your legs against the seat

HE HE OK.

Rick W
Yes, yes, as someone partially correctly saidt, it's not just your colon that will go, but your entire body with the exception of your feet. The rule, besides not sitting and flushing, is DO NOT FLUSH while in the station.

Nothing, the inside of the plane is pressurized. The water, feces and urine go into a holding tank and when the plane lands, the holding tank is emptied by the Airport's "Super-Duper Pooper-Scooper Sucker Outter" machine. One of those dirty jobs which doesn't pay more than the Garbage Collectors.

xjoizey
You're correct, nothing more than like flushing a home

No they will not. its just enough suction to pull the water in not to do anything to you
