It goes through to a back room where the baggage handlers have a snoop through it to see if you got anything worth nicking...... |

The luggage handlers jump on it in hob nail boots, break off the wheels and take anything of value. |

For your safety it gets scanned by x-ray machines to make sure there are no banned items, it then gets transferred onto carts and taken to the aircraft.
It does not get rifled through by baggage handlers and I have never seen baggage handlers jumping on bags with their hobnail boots either.
I have some good friends who are baggage handlers and they do a hard job extremely well. |

hi you
it depends in what airport your in, in most modern airports it remains on the belt and with the use of the bar code on the tag they put on your case it works it way to one area of the airport with the help of bar code scanners in smaller airports when it goes behind under the check in desks handlers puts it on a truck or trailer to put it on the plane |

It sits on trolleys in the baggage hall waiting for the flight to start loading. |

They are taken off on a conveyor belt and then scanned and xrayed several times prior to being sorted and put into a trolley and then taken on to the plane. |

scanned by x-ray, and random selection for search by hand. Then it goes to the baggage handling hall - there may be drug-sniffer dogs here.
Depending on the airport's system, bags are then sorted automatically or by hand and loaded to small trucks / carts. The carts are then hooked up to a motor unit and taken out to the plane.
THe sorting process is where things are likely to go wrong - if the scanner or person does not correctly read the label, bag will end up in the wrong cart. |

It all depends on the airport. Large airports like Detroit and Denver will normally scan your baggage with x-ray machines and often bomb-detecting devices to ensure that no illegal material is being transported. Some small airports still do not have a checked baggage screening process like the large airports, however, the TSA is working hard to get small airports to do this.
Happy flying! |

It goes through TSA screening area and then the bags are taken by a conveyor to a large baggage carousel. Airline employees pull bags for the flights they are working, then they are put on a cart and the they are then loaded on to the aircraft.
Airlines specifically advise not to pack breakables in your checked luggage. Bags are stacked on one another in the bin of the aircraft and shift during flight. The truth is that airline employees do not have the spare time to deliberately smash around luggage for fun. I mean they have to lug around luggage all day why would they spend extra time and energy smashing luggage? As far a luggage being ransacked and items stolen. It takes more than one person to load a plane and one person rarely has unlimited access or time to search through bags. TSA, police officers, and other airline employees are everywhere at the airport. I seriously doubt a rogue airline employee could pack off with a load of valuables and no one would notice. |

its x rayed and checked out and then put on aircraft and put into bays in aircraft |

It is checked by TSA and placed on a baggage cart or in a container for widebody aircraft until it is ready to be loaded onto the aircraft.
