ooh man, don't get me started. I hate flying.
About 12 years ago I flew back from Germany to Atlanta.
First we had a bomb threat and they searched the plane and everything. So we were delayed for about 3 hrs. Well they finally let us board and I ended up sitting next to A Big, Black Burly Seargent Major who was going home on leave.
About 2 hours into the flight we ended up getting into some terrible turbulences. The overhead compartements opened up and stuff was flying everywhere. It was terrible. Then the masks dropped from above.
The guy and I held hands, then we took a huge drop and the soldier started screaming while clutching my hand and the armrest. I was thinking to myself that I am in deep trouble if this crusty hero is screaming. And the man in the seat behind me was reciting prayers. I really thought that I was going to die
I survived, but that was my worst nightmare come true.
I now avoid flying at all cost. |

It's a tie between these two experiences:
1. A young mother with an infant, and 6 year old, sitting in the row behind me. The 6 year old swung his feet, kicking my seat relentlessly, and the infant cried most of the way. I understand there's not a whole lot the mother can do to get the baby to stop, but she did nothing to stop her 6 year old from kicking, even though I mentioned it to her twice.
2. We started to take off, and barely got off the ground before an engine caught on fire and we had to land to have it checked out. The flight was delayed for 2 hours and everyone was really scared. |

When my youngest son (he was just 1 y/o at that time) took a poo in his diaper. The whole plane stank. |

On my second flight ever , we experienced terrible turbulence. They suspended food and drink service. We also were asked to keep our seat belts on during the ENTIRE flight and stay in our seats.
We also had the miss fortune of having a VERY scared lady on the flight... she kept whimpering every time the plan would "whap". |

OK it was 2 years ago when I was on a Lot Polish Airlines Boeing 767 en-route from Chicago O'Hare to Krakow, Poland. It was a overnight flight. We were somewhere over the North Atlantic, and then all of the lights completely went of! It was pitch dark and it sounded like the engines were slowly dying off too! It lasted for maybe a couple of seconds but seemed to go on forever. When everything went back to normal the captain announced that something had disconnected but its all right, and that we will continue our way to Krakow. And during those couple of seconds we lost over 4000 feet of altitude because we were at 38000 and dropped to 33500! |

Eight hour flight from Honolulu to Houston w/my son & raging food poisoning - cramps, diarrhea, vomiting. The only good thing is that my son didn't get sick until the worst of my symptoms had passed. I never want to be sick like that ever again. |

I had horrible morning sickness during my pregnancy and I also get motion sickness even in the car. I had to fly from Minnesota to Texas at just under 12 weeks pregnant and I was afraid to take dramamine because of the baby. The flight was very turbulant and when we got to Texas the weather was too bad to land so we had to circle in turbulance for over an hour. I felt extremely sick for nearly 24 hours after returning to land. |

In USAF tech school, I lost the cap to my inkpen in the cockpit of a jet. They had to remove the control stick and tear up part of the floor to get it. They just loved me. |
